Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
Should be drier than last year. Weather Chanel predicts high temps of 90 to 92. Testing here yesterday it was 100 at the track. 3700' to 3900' DA. Should be better for the race next weekend. If anybody needs anything while here let me know.

Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
Sammy,
That would be like "Not going" to No Problem because there are Hurricanes that come through the south. I think with a fast car you can out run one of those tornados. Don't know about doing that with a hurricane, might run out of gas trying to get away from one of those big buggers.. :~) |
Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
Tornado season is over. End of May.
|
Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
yes adger you are wright. but the thing with a hurricane's you have warning's. with those twirley birds you never know when they are going to hit.nothing scares me i fear nothing but you can ask sid tornado's are not my bag.

Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
Sammy,
Coming from someone that has spent his entire life in "Dorothy & Toto" land, come on to Tulsa and just hang close. If by chance (slim) that the weather threatens, I'll provide complete directions on what procedures you should take. I've experienced eathquakes and the remnants of a few hurricanes...... I'll take a puny ol twister any day of the week. Unk |
Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
ok bob ill think about it but they have had a lot of tornado's over your way in the past weeks. and mr loring is from ok.he owne's that big rig that i carry my car in. but man it is going to verry hot.

Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
Sammy, the season is really over. We do have warnings. Supposed to be 90 to 92 deg, and seldom gets as humid as down your way.

Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
Sammy,
I hate to sound like I'm making fun of your "ism", (Lord knows I suffer from a couple) but that is funny. Those pictures of Topeka must have really been touching....I've stayed away from races because of the threat of rain, ice, snow, heat and other forms of weather (including a hurricane, remember Ennis & Rita!), but I've never stayed home from a race because of the threat of a tornado. Just a thought. Wouldn't life be better if you face your fear and win the race? Then you would "Really" have something to rib Ed about!! ;~) |
Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
ok ed and adger you got me thinking. but you know guys if a tornado kills me i will never talk to you again. ha ha.;)

Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!

Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
BTW Sammy,
If a twister does come along and get ya, I promise I'll take real good care of the Corvette for ya! Unk |
Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
OK Sammy,
I think I'll call him. It might be a story that would be better when I could hear the inflection in his voice!! HA! I do love to here him tell stories. Last year at the Engine Masters if there was a slow time Sid was right there with "Did I ever tell you about the time"?------Or he would ask Wesley "Do you remember old So and So when they raced"?.....They were outstanding. :~) Thanks, Adg BTW Good luck on that boat project. You do understand what a boat "IS"?? It is a hole in the water you throw money into...... |
Re: Zero chance of rain predicted for Tulsa LODRS!
yes adger a boat is a big!!!!! hole in the water to put money in. i had a 28 bertram for 18 years and sold it in 03 and i missed it. so one day at the lunch room were we eat at every day. jeff walked in with an ad in the new orleans paper with one for sale. so me and sid took a ride to n.o. to look at it. it was a dog so sid found one on ebay in fla. a later model from the one i had. over a five month stay on ebay the owner took my offer. so i had it trucked in and the rest is history. but the amarillo story is worth the phone call you will like it. if you have a face book account look up me and go to my fishing pics. i have pics of me mark oswald the late less lovit from nhra. less took some great pics on some offshore trips we went on before he passed away. in fact the best pics he took with were with me less and james caro before he died.
