Re: Martin, MI IHRA race
For those that have never been to Martin, it is an awesome facility. Great track with concrete walls, extra length from water box to starting line (great for driving out of the water), very long shut down area, large pit area with paved roads, top notch grandstands, scales, bathrooms, etc. I feel very fortunate to live so close. One tip: get your trailer closed up before dark or it will be FULL of bugs, including lots of mosquitoes. I made a single run at night there a couple of weeks ago during a test and tune and I hit so many bugs that it looked like I had been driving all night long!

Re: Martin, MI IHRA race
This will be US 131's version of "Calvalcade of Stars" as they will be
hosting their annual Jet show after the Pro Am Saturday night. I hope it all works out and everyone has a good time. I hope you S/SS racers make some new fans and show some awesome racing. My best friend decided to get hitched Sat. so I'll be missing this for the first time since the inaugural event. Some best friend! Very laid back and fun race though! -steve |
Re: Martin, MI IHRA race
Just a little up date. Out of 4 races Andrew and I won 1 round. Sat. I won first round Andrew was .0007 red. Second round I was on the receiving end of a .005 courtesy of the eventual winner Craig Marshall. Sunday I was red in round 1 and Andrew was on the receiving end of a .001 courtesy of Jack Larsen.
Martin is a really nice race track with outstanding traction and a smooth racing surface. It's very well kept up and reminded me a little of Norwalk but on a slightly smaller scale. I will definitely go back. In fact Andrew and I will try and make the Nitro Jam event in August. |
Re: Martin, MI IHRA race
Sorry to hear about the bust weekend. But, you did get a little ink!

Re: Martin, MI IHRA race
The Hill's have two of the nicest Camaros around. Plus I need what ever they are using to figure out their dial ins as they where dead on. Friday was nice until the wind died down around 6PM. Saturday (record day) was horrible as the dew point went up 17 degrees....
Photographer Chris Simmons captured a lot of good photos this past weekend, this is one of my favorites. http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCPh...29221#indextop Phil |
