Nhra dvd

Dear NHRA,

DON'T SEND ME DVD'S IN THE MAIL THAT I DIDN'T ASK FOR AND HAVE TO RETURN. I don't care if it is postage paid. I didn't ask for it in the first place, don't send it to me. I have more than enough things to deal with every day.

You didn't order it and thus under no obligation to pay for it or return it !!
Hot Rod Mag did the same thing to me......I didn't pay or return it !

Re: Nhra dvd

How much did it cost to mail all those DVD's out and then pay to return half of them??? If you keep the DVD and pay for it you are signing up for a DVD of the month club or close to it. NHRA will keep sending more every month or so (and a bill). If I wanted one I would order it, I don't need to have stuff sent to me I didn't ask for. Mass marketing I guess.

Re: Nhra dvd

And for the environmentally-conscious, you have to take the DVD out of the case and return just the DVD in the envelope, something about mailing regulations. The case has a giant recycle logo on the inside, but of course it's black plastic, which our county dump doesn't take for recycling.

I got mine today and it is going back tomorrow. I would throw it away, but I want them to pay for the return postage.

I read it carefully figuring how can they legally do this? Back page second paragraph read the last two sentences. You are under no obligation.
Throw it in the garbage where it belongs.

Not many of us want any type of DVD that only has PRO fuel cars
on it anyway. If they send me one, it will go back.

What happens to postage if some wheel weights are included on the return shipment? :D

Did anyone read the additional paper that you have to mail in on your dime to get them to stop sending stuff? What a waste of my membership dollars. It must help the USPS though!

Re: Nhra dvd

Money making SCAM. They just figure 50% won't send it back and they'll charge them $12.95. Heck even if you send it back you'll probably get charged the $12.95, then you'll have to make 20 calls to get your money back.

This Sh_t should be illegal to do.

This reminds of the old record/cd clubs that would send you CDs you didn't want followed by a bill.

According to USPS regulations, if it is unsolicited material for sale, you are not obligated to pay for OR send it back. It would be against Federal law for them to charge you for the DVD. If you didn't order it, you don't have to pay for it. This is an old trick that counts on the recipient not knowing the postal laws. It must work most of the time and be profitable. Jim

If you read the letter that came with the DVD , printed in darker print, it says," Because you didn't ask for this introductory DVD, you are under no obligation to do anything and can consider it a free gift". It's mine.....

I thought this kind of "marketing" stopped in the early 90's when credit card companies used to send unsolicited credit cards...

You don't have to do anything with this dvd, you can just keep it or toss it.

What is a "free gift?"

If it's not FREE, it's not a GIFT...

Just sayin'...

I got mine today, about an hour long DVD (haven't watched the extras) of some of the best moments from the 1950's to early 2000's. Not too bad. Some stories on Glidden, Garlits, first 300 mph runs and other stuff. I guess I'd give it 2 1/2 stars.

Re: Nhra dvd

I've actually gotten 2 of these now. The first one didn't come with the postage paid envelope to send it back, so I just threw it all in the trash. The second came with the envelope, but not the card where you check off "I don't want this thing", so in the trash it went as well. Incompetency abounds.

If NHRA wants to promonte sales of their DVD's, this is NOT the way to do it.... I'm sending mine back as well, but why should I have to send back something I DIDN'T order???

Why even bother sending it back. Just throw it in the trash.

Re: Nhra dvd

It has to go back..................then it costs NHRA even more to "enhance our experience".

I like the idea of a couple wheel weights in the envelope to "enhance the return fee" to NHRA.

Shame on them for this back-door attempt to promote the sport within the Sportsman ranks. Just more evidence their entire staff is "out of touch" with reality. Sorts reminds me of the crew in charge in Washington D.C.

At least you can count on them to continue these "treats" in the future.
