Re: CIC results?

The data feed I was getting had car numbers, indexes and results numbers, but no driver information (like their names). I sent my database to Larry, and he's going to try to sort through it and post results, but I can't make any promises.

Sometimes when we try to do new stuff, the computers involved have communication problems - it's like they speak slightly different languages and interpretation is needed.

Since he qualified at 10.84 -1.304 under I would say it is fast.

1 and a half more points of compression than an Ls-1, 15 more cubes, bigger intake, bigger valves, slightly smaller lift. Sounds about a half second off the pace.

Thanks again ,Dave

Re: CIC results?

I'm not trying to be a wise ***, this is a sincere question. Was there some confusion with the participants regarding the way the CIC was going to be applied? There were a number of glaring mistakes made in the first round that certainly affected the ensuing rounds. Not just one missed redlight, but several "way further under runs than required", enough so that I really think there must have been some misunderstanding of how it was going to work.

And I'm not piling on anyone, I'm just curious. NO ONE has ever made a bigger bone head mistake than I did 1st round of SS last week.

Dan, our rig is parked around the 1000 ft mark and I could not believe what I was seeing. I guess some don't understand comp but bracket racing 101 should be applied except always take the stripe.

Re: CIC results?

You are right Dan. there was a lot of confusion with the cic rules. Round1 my opponent red lighted and I ran it out the back door. I took a 16 Hun hit. I asked Pat about it and he said the same rules as comp eliminator apply. I told him that we run Stock not comp . No Problem had some Problems! They sholud have posted the rules. It is just that simple.

It seems like my friend Jeff Dona had it figured out.

Re: CIC results?

I am sure some of the CIC patcipants were using it as a time run and not paying attention to the cic penalties incurred by running more than -.700 under. The non class winners also got a time run on saturday.;)

9.44 in HA is incredible!!!!

Re: CIC results?

That seems like as a spectator that would be really fun to watch. S/SS running off a CIC like comp. Love comp would enjoy that one. Was Teuton running the V-10?

Dave Casey 03-20-2011 12:13 PM

Re: CIC results?

The rules were the same last year, but because of weather the cic race was cancelled. Art posted the question on rules last year and it was stated that 7 under was the trigger, it was 1.0 before the index got hit .3

At 137 MPH! Hell of an LT1! Wonder if I parked close to him I could get some of that excess hp by osmosis? :-)

Maybe put a few more coats of wax and yours will run 137. LOL

Ed Wright 03-20-2011 09:24 PM

Re: CIC results?

Mine wouldn't fall off a cliff at 137.

Jeff Teuton 03-21-2011 01:15 PM

Re: CIC results?

It was a lot of fun, and loaded with mistakes just like every year. It sorta equalizes over the race. I got hit bad because of extremely bad driving the first round, got a bye the second and red the third which eased the pain. After that it was totally self inflicted. The rules were always out there. Over .7 under, you got hit that much the next round (down from 1.00 under, but moved to .7 as NHRA lowered the indexes .7). It was fun.

Re: CIC results?

You sure did good (Mr) Jeff :)
It is always good to see you at the races, and I hope your brother gets well real soon.
I find it interesting that the C.I.C. race brings out more soft combo's than just the "new" cars, but hardly anyone comments. Sort of how you get busted for being a used car salesman, and Jack Matyas is one too if I remember correctly, but walks on water with the haters. By the way, both Jack and Jeff are two of the best guys out there.

See you at the races,
Wayne Kerr

I never met Jack, but I can tell you Jeff is as good a guy you will ever meet. Don't think I've met anybody from Louisiana that wasn't.
