Gators, new people to party with...

Wel I am looking at the entry list for the Gators and I see some different entries from the normal. Larry Peterson from Eugene, OR, and Mr. Brad Burton from Colorado, assuming that Scott will be there also. You all need to come by The Imperial Palace. And then there is Mr. Santangelo, I have not met you yet, but I know Phillip and Peter are cool people, stop on by. I see so many good people it just makes me excited to compete in this sport with such a variety of individuals. Top notch competitors, young and old, seasoned and newbies, even Don Garlits is running Stock. Hey, Perrone, can I get an autographed "Hello Kitty" T Shirt, and why isn't the Moreheads coming. I see Michael Beard is running this year, and the new guy, David "I can beat anybody" Hunt, should be interesting. I could go on and on about the great field of competitors at this years Gators, but only one will survive. In the mean time you all stop by the Imperial Palace and say Hi.

Ron, I see that you're going to try and ruin an entirely new generation of racers. Leave those kids alone. You can find enough of us old, already ruined derelicts to party with.

Re: Gators, new people to party with...

Jack, I never though of that, partying with gators, now thats almost a croc.

Billy, I've got Beard coming over on his own free will. I have yet to corrupt him, but some times one must enlighten others to the pitfalls that could come about in their future. Do not know about Burton and Santengelo yet.

"Leave those kids alone" Sounds like a track from The Wall.

"You can find enough of us old, already ruined derelicts to party with." Yea right, you all old farts go to bed at 9:00PM, The "Jersey Mafia" closes at 9:00PM. The streets are safe. But I did keep Jim "The New Yorker" Marshall up late in Bradenton.

Any of you next generation young racers out there want to party, come to the Imperial palace, no ID required, IQ test required, bring cash or other valuable items, waiver needs to be signed, not read.

See Billy, I am not a bad person, I do have morals.

Billt or Ron, I'll be there just hanging out so if either of you need an extra hand just let me know.

Hey Mr Ortiz! I can't wait for the day that I get to race and party with you at the Gators. I grew up in Central Florida but didn't start racing until I was living out here in Seattle. I've been a couple of times as a spectator/crew with Dvorak but that isn't the same as racing. Maybe next year, but in the meantime Larry's a great rep for Division 6. His big red Chevy is a monster and he used to race a wagon. If you see him, tell him good luck from Wagons of Steel and he isn't missing anything up here!

Sorry, Mr. Ortiz... the Gators aren't happening for me. I just had to withdraw from the event. All year long, I've been completely overwhelmed with my business, and the avalanche has piled up even more. There's no way that I can lose those work days next week required by the NHRA event schedule. I'm incredibly frustrated, but I don't have a choice at this point.

Good luck to all. We'll catch up again sometime.

Micheal, sorry to hear that you are not coming, I'll have to cancel the Dancing Baers. Maybe next time. Keep working and collectng that money so you can go fuel racing.

Chris, I'll be looking for him and tell him hi for you.

hookdaddy, I can drink two beers as I have two hands, but your idea of an extra hand sounds very appealing, c'mon by Don.

Gators, counting the days.

Re: Gators, new people to party with...

Nitro Joe, you know that we do not have a shuttle bus for inexperienced walkers. If anyone needs a ride we just get in the wagon.

Duane, would love to go there, but is doubtful. We try to stay close to home with the economy.

BTW Michael, the Baer twins want to know where you will be racing next.

U/SA are you all getting this

Brad Burton is in Mark Faul's trailer. Now that Mark Faul guy can drink some beer....watch out!

Jeff Lane, thank you for the info, I'll look him up. I did not know that Mark Faul was a beer drinker. Well c'mon over Mark and Brad you guys will fit right in. Does Brad drink beer or are we going to have to serve him Shirley Temples. Between myself, Sean, The New Yorker and The Faul Guy we should go through a 12 pack in no time.

BTW, congrats to The New Yorker and his RU finish and to Bubba Linke. Hey Bubba I got some jerky for you.

Michael, the Baer twins like to stay closer to home for hibernation purposes.

Will be leaving Wednesday morning for the Swamp, see ya all there.

Re: Gators, new people to party with...

Danny, if I leave Wednesday morning I'll be there roughly in the early afternoon as it is 220 miles. We will have all of Wednesday night, which we have not made any dinner plans for yet, but we will party nonetheless.

Thursday it is supposed to be raining so we will be riding around on the Southern Snacks golf cart giving out samples of jerky and pepperoni sticks. Then it's on to partying for Thursday nigh dinner, I hear it is supposed to be steak with special sauce. Then we have Friday night for partying, that is ribs night, with mangrove and cherry wood chips for smoked flavor along with special rubs on the ribs.

Saturday and Sunday it is supposed to be clear. Partying to be continued. Saturday night partying is up to Ashley, our daughter, Seans wife, as it is her birthday. I think we should have a big bash without her knowledge, but we will play it by nose.

But do not take any of this partying as me not being serious about racing, I mean when it comes time to race I have to have my attention span greatly increased. When the car fires up to the burnout box, it's all real fun now. All things must be second nature with minor adjustments for differences in circumstances. When the light come down my concentration period must be able to be totally focused for at a minimum of 15 seconds, not like some others who only have to pay attention for 10-13 seconds. In time relation formulas, that is a tremendous span.

What it all boils down to is being able to have fun and race. We can do that.

As for the entire adventure this is my final comparasion of the sanctioning bodies for the Ortiz Unleeched Series. I am looking foward to all of this.

Has anyone informed Larry Peterson or Brad Burton or Mark Faul about any of these postings. If not get the news to them because we are coming for them.

Re: Gators, new people to party with...

Ron invited me to dinner at the Imperial Palace one time and I never made it back to my motel room that night. When I woke up on the couch the next morning and my favorite "Steve Bagwell" T-shirt was gone! Asked him what was in those great chicken wings, he said it was a special "cajun sauce". If you go partying at the Imperial Palace watch out for the "special sauce"! You might just lose your shirt! Jim

I always thought the name Ortiz was Irish not Cajun!
