Prayers for Lou and Judy Conkey
 

Hello - it's Kelly, Lou and Judy's daughter....I'm writing to let you know about an accident they had Tuesday,

She and my dad were heading to the Doctors office, dad got lightheaded, tried to grab a rail, tumbled down 7 steps taking mom with him.

Both were taken to Grant Hospital in Columbus and mom was admitted to trauma unit. She has a right hip fracture, which they repaired with surgery Tuesday evening, a broken right shoulder and 6 of 8 broken ribs on her right side. She is just this side of miserable.

Dad is admitted as well, he had a cardiology work up. Both have had the flu for 2 weeks. His blood pressure was low and he was dehydrated when he got here and today his bp is on the high side now and he has a headache. Not sure if they're going to release him or not today. (I hope not - selfishly it makes it easier on me to have them both here).

Moms trauma team said we need to get her breathing better and work with PT and then will talk about moving her to a skilled facility for rehab. We have a room ready in a beautiful place where we had my Grandpa in Hilliard.

Best Wishes to Lou and Momma. I bet Lou is more worried about the whoopin Momma is going to give him! Kind of like when he triggered AHFS at the Gators LOL.

Tell them both that I remember well the time they were here at my shop, they stayed the night and we had a great time visiting and bench racing.

Kelly, I pray that God will pour out his blessings on your family. I met your Mom & Dad at Orlando a few years back. I even got to race Lou in the second round. Ask him how that one came out.... Tell your folks I'm thinking about them and looking forward to seeing them soon.
