2011 LODRS Contingency
Spotted this as new on D2's website, apologize if one of the recent "hot" threads already provided it....

Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
Damn.....if that's a full list I would only claim 17 of the products! Only 1700 contingency to win and 850 for r/u!!!! PATHETIC!!!!
|
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
I come up with 8.Don't know what some are contingent on though.
|
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
2011 list is down from the 2010 list 29 contingency products, over $40,000 less posted per event, and over $1.8 million less posted for the entire year.
Notable longtime particpants missing are ATI, Comp Cams, & Edelbrock. |
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
OUCH.. where'd everybody go? Cops broke up the party. Ford went home, MT went home, aeromotive, comp cams, altronics, edelbrock all peaced out too? Can any new sponsors choose to be added over the course of the year or is this final?
Now in all seriousness, can we plead with NHRA to raise the payouts to make up for the loss of sponsors? 4 rounds and not even getting your entry fee back is just brutal. |
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
I don't know the process but I am going to assume the companies not only pay contingencies to the racers but have to pay NHRA to be a sponsor.
Maybe 'the cost of doing business' with NHRA no longer falls within their budget. ______________________________ Andy Stone 1102 A/S 1112 SS/C |
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
I'm thinking this is just a list of companies that have signed the contract, and many more longtime sponsors are still pending...
I sure hope!!!! |
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
Maybe the sponsors got "enhanced" also?
|
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
I think Mopar is posting the same as last year. I will find out officially.
|
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
Mickey Thompson is in LODRS and Jegs Sports nationals only, spoke with them Wednesday.
|
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
Yea, it looks disappointing so far but I've been told that a bunch of the bigs have yet to commit. The new Class deal, however, is generating a lot of interest. Wait for 2012, should be real good !!!!!!!!

Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
How's this for a novel idea.. NHRA pays back some of the money it collects instead of everyone relying on contingency. It's always amazed me how they post XXX amount for the event of which a lot probably isn't paid out because the majority is contingency. NHRA takes credit for a payout they contribute little to.
This is from the 2002 Gatornationals just to compare how nothing has changed. Posted.................1,783,500 Contingency........1,094,150 NHRA/Track...........689,500 Pro Payout.............555,100 Sportsman..............134,400 As far as I can tell it's a double edged sword for sponsors. They have to pay NHRA then pay the racers who run their product. It should be one or the other with a decent payout back to the racers. |
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
Should put this post into the 'Sticky' as well !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
Not surprised but NO GM/FORD/MOPAR did ya notice???
|
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
I talked to NHRA contingency director about making a few changes to let small companies in without upsetting the guys who paid the big bucks. Probably not happening in 2011 but he is going to try to get something going for CLass and smaller LODRS sponsors for 2012.
At least Charlie is thinking about it, that is not a bad thing. Jok |

Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
GM is posting for block and heads at national events. They haven't done div races in years.
|
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
In class races, I'm going to take my allotted number of time runs, including 1st round of class, and that's it! Win or lose! No use of putting additional runs on my car that aren't elimination runs!

A lot of racers will just stop going. |
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
Has anybody heard if ATI is going to be involved again?
|
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
Ok, now that the list is revised, I can get 28. That's a little better!! Still not anywhere near where it should be!
|
Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
Several updates but some inconsistencies between info found on some of the NHRA provided links so I'll let you pick your own. Be interesting to see what Bradenton winners and R/U's found out.

Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency

Re: 2011 LODRS Contingency
GM, Ford, Mopar, ATI, etc. are on the NHRA contingency list for National and LODRS events but they don't all show up when I pulled D2's latest list. In any case it's nice to see some more stepping up to the plate.
