DP #1 V10 SS Challenger...?
Rumor has it according to my pal Rob Wolfe of Mopar Collectors guide that the Teuton Clan are going to get the Test mule #1. No better deserving people in my opinion. Make us Mopar fanatics proud Jeff; Race it, don't store it. Be nice to see the Southland Flyer name on it.

Big investment just to have some keyboard tough guy talk smack. Please re-read what you posted. Think about it if it applied to you. Say you are sorry. Move on, thinking before you post. |
Re: DP #1 V10 SS Challenger...?
I love this, gazillion dollar race cars in a class that started with F78/15 whitewalls, no seat belts and tee shirts without helmets. If these cars and their drivers are lucky enough to win a race, they will receive the same purse that one would win with a V/SA Pinto. Do the math, it is all just a big dick contest.
Please pass the popcorn....................... |

Your post basically attacked a nice guy, who has been on this Forum a lot longer than you. You hide behind an account name that is not your own. No one knows who you are. You don't know Mr. Durham, we don't know you.
I'm sure Mr. Teuton doesn't need you to post about his projects. He is very capable of posting himself. You should apologize, if only to recognize that your post might have been taken in a hostile manner. |

I almost believed you until you quoted Rob Wolfe and MCG. That's almost as good as quoting the 'National Enquirer'.

I just got off of the phone (9p detroit time) with the MOPAR project manager at his house I talked earlier today with the project manage at Arrow Racing Engines I also spoke with the project coordinator at Roush today as well I talk to Jeff frequently - he posted on here who some of the owners are and they intentions I am a buyer (which you are not) but I would bet I have been racing MOPARs longer than you have been out of diapers Go back to what ever MOPAR club you think has the inside information You do not have a clue about the test car (#0) that was used at Milan Jeff is not paying for a "used" car he is getting a new one that would be #1 - which as of late last week was not finished yet He intends to go up and look it over very soon I see he is on so maybe he can set you straight Or since you know him so well - send him a PM to confirm your rumors |

I never complained or tried to change what was happening I merely wanted some entertaining dialogue - it had been quiet over the winter You have at least provide that I am still very excited and impatient The thing that amazed me was no one mention the ET and MPH - I posted on the Milan runs You said you never met anyone you liked from California - maybe you do not get out much I find when people run out of something literate to say they stoop to personal attacks :-) peace |

Here's a rumor from another site....
"Yeah, but Mr Norms bought all 70 v10 Drag Pack Challies." LOL! |
Re: DP #1 V10 SS Challenger...?
"that is funny right there" - Larry the Cable Guy
Not trying to correct you here but Jeff bought the first 10 plus #13 I have been told "there are a lot more than 20 sold" - that was my guess I do not know why they do not want to say the exact number Seems to me if I only had 30 left I would say so hoping to start a feeding frenzy LOL :-) peace OK I am going out for some sushi - uh oh a California thing |

Re: DP #1 V10 SS Challenger...?
Hey Ron! When did you have Mopars?! Lol.
I realize I'm still wet behind the ears next to some of you old coots but I remember a Chevelle and Camaro. Did they build those with Hemi's and 6-packs? That'd explain why they both ran good. Just kidding about the old coot thing. Well, for most of you guys that is... |

1960 318 Fury convertible, 1962 2dr post 361, 1963 2dr post 383, 1965 Sport Fury 426, 1966 273 Barracuda - put a '62 dodge rear end in the 'Cuda with 4.88 (little know fact - same width) with tiny 6.95 blue streak rear tires. We beat every one in town - GTOs with 421s, 409 Chevelles, 400 442s, 426s Dodges and Plymouths you name it. OK I will admit we liked short tracks - like 1000 feet (they never caught on) All except for one '65 Chevelle with a 292 dragster engine in it. My brother got a '66 327/350 hp Chevy II which was a rocket ship (fastest factory street car ever produced in my humble opinion - only weighed 2800 lbs). Maybe that is why I switched. Anyway, after the Army, I was Chevy guy. Won the AHRA PRO GT-3 Championship in 1970 in a financed (Teachers Credit Union) 302 Camaro. Been a Chevy Guy every since. Enough Nostalgia. I do not have any money - no savings - no property - but I can make payments - I got financing (do not ask how - see a pattern here) - so I am going to do this "old school" - roll the dice and see if I can make this work - my "swan song" so to speak - at least I can leave it to Andy. I have more guts than most of the limp, lame newbies on here who do not want to see an old broke guy give it one more try. It is not about wining it is about having fun - I do not make the rules I just play by them See you soon :-) peace |

Andys Dad, I'm rooting for you, Jeff and all you DP guys. Quite a list of fine folks running them, and don't fault your racing exit strategy. Personally, I'd like to use my 401 such that my final funeral home check bounces but doubt my wife of 35 years would go along with it.
Jared Jordon; you know that "old coot" thing will get back to your grandad, right? He's liable to drop a bowling ball on your foot. LOL |

Re: DP #1 V10 SS Challenger...?
This is pretty good. Now let me tell you about the 392 Blown Car for 2012. Just as soon stir up the whole damn mess. I'm getting a blower kit and put it on a truck just to sell a couple and test it this year. Maybe my blue car would look good with a 392 huffer.

Re: DP #1 V10 SS Challenger...?
Well it is a non- profit organization------what do you expect to get paid as a winner with a gazillion dollar stocker ? Fun is getting very expensive !
|
Re: DP #1 V10 SS Challenger...?
Here we go again...
I do not EXPECT to get paid a single dime - I do not do this because I hope to recoop my expenses. I hope to watch my son go very fast - and enjoy myself while I am doing it. I love this so much and enjoy it so much - I am actually OK with paying and the more fun I have, the more it should cost. Obviously, some are not ready to admit - it is OK to loose money in drag racing or our hobbies (ski boats, off road vehicles, etc.) They want to justify what they spend in drag racing by saying they COULD win some small amount someday and the less they have spent the less they have lost. The point is - almost no one is turning a profit in sportsman drag racing (please do not bore me with the names of the few that do) Almost every single one of us spend way more money than we win - we do it because we enjoy it. The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. |
Re: DP #1 V10 SS Challenger...?
Charlie Allen, it's not a big dick contest. I don't think anybody that drives stock a low 13 second or faster car every day to work and back is going to have much fun racing something that's not faster than that. If you have driven nine second cars a 10 or 11 second, or even slower car is not going to be much fun. That's why we do this, right?
My low ten second car is no thrill, I wouldn't want to race anything slower. Just wouldn't feel like racing. Just because a guy has worked hard and long enough to afford a faster car doesn't mean he wants to measure anything with you. Not many of us do this for a profit. I'm happy for anybody that can afford a newer faster car. As long as the hp rating is close to correct. |
