I know there was a lot of talk about how fast Wade Owens is and that his heads are so special. His heads and mine are nothing special theres more too the motor than that or that so called bogus intakes. You all were so amazed how fast he is.Well here is what we did weighing 3180 in 2002 in killer air..

Your reaction time is almost equal to your 60' time! Does it take awhile to wind up a 283?

You know it takes awhile to wind up the rubber band when you only have a 283! At least that's the story I am sticking with. LOL.

That 1000 to 1320 time looks pretty sporty at that weight. Nothing to sneeze at there.

Hey, take it easy on Jeff. He has more important things to do like passing Michael Beard for 7th on the all time Class Racer posting list.

BTW, nice string of lights. Keep it up. I'll see you in Phoenix.

Wade O also runs a powerglide, that is why it is so impressive. Rt's are impressive when you win a race : )

Wade's car works perfectly in almost every way. If only he would put a stick in that bad boy. I just can't seem to talk him into it! :)

I'm interested what's bogus about the intake manifold? Are you talking about the 327 Intake in place of the 283 Intake and the rumors it's worth 2 tenths?? Thanks

My posts are so long they should count for 3. But hey, it's not quantity but quality that counts..... er... ... right? Ah, the dangers of working from home with an internet-driven business....

x2 on the nice lights!

how in the hell, and when did the 283 220 get REDUCED to 217 ???

in other words all i get off with the 30cfm smaller carb, a small 265 intake and NO 459 cheater intake, plus an extra 2ccs' in my heads CC is a LOUSY 2 HP !!!

i asked for the 459 intake i was told i was already fast enough, if that is a reason, and wade gets -3hp as fast as he is ... now thats some of NHRA's finest work on fairness.

talk about being screwed by NHRA... 5HP was dismal after the intake ordeal but GEEZ !

im sure this will be HEADLINE news like the inequities of the DP & Cobra's

Michael, I think all your posts are relevant, heck they are even intelligible so they can count for 4 in my book.

And PLEASE don't ever post your string of reaction times, could be disheartening for most of us.

Your posts are always quality posts, Michael, but your name just happend to be the next on the list. :)

For the most part it seems that the amount of posts a person has is inversely proportional to the amount of actual racing they do. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, I'm just sayin'. You are definitely one of the exceptions.

Yep, my cars been in engine / chassis prison for 4 years now! I am going for one of my quarterly conjugal visits before Christmas. I'm sure I'll again hear, "gunna get goin on it real hard next week just after I finish this BBC that (fill in the blank) needs for the race next week..." story.
And Yes, I do spend a lot of time doing work on my computer. This is my version of a coffee break.

Besides it was always agreed to be a side job AND it was paid for back then, the REAL news is it's a good thing it was "outa sight, outa mind" as far as my better half was concerned a few years ago (as I was a starving Realtor with 4 kids). See, she knows things sell fast on craigslist when posted by desperate housewives!

Jack, trade you my 459 for your 3-speed!

Wade O

Re: 283 Times

your on wade !

459 guaranteed HP (21 in my case) and so far 3 speed has not been a huge issue, and the amount of money it will require (convertors , gearset changes etc.) is huge compared to a set of intake gaskets !

im sure you were grateful and not the person asking for -hp but how in the hell can NHRA give -hp to a combo (specifically chevelle) that has such good numbers even if it is just ONE car...i know i have no slugs to average against so i am screwed by the AHFS bull****
