Myron, are you coming to orlando for the dec 12 no box?
|
Re: IHRA Releases Nitro Jam Schedule
No. I got the oil pan off to check things and suspension apart to replace some worn parts. I doubt I'll have time to put it back together before then. But I'll be at PRI Fri. & Sat.

Re: IHRA Releases Nitro Jam Schedule
Closest Nitro Jam race for us is 600 miles away now. I have 4 NHRA nationals within 300 miles. Makes a man rethunk his racing program.

Re: IHRA Releases Nitro Jam Schedule
So no Rockingham? With the D9 schedule not out yet it sure looks more certain that Steve is moving over to NHRA. Since IHRA is sticking with the NitroJam format and some of their races are geographically "diverse" they seem to be resigned to low sportsman car counts.
And SIR's website still shows NHRA banners....silly season indeed. |
Re: IHRA Releases Nitro Jam Schedule
Rockingham has a div 9 race and the bracket finals.

I don't recall the Numidia deal but I was actively bracket racing on the west coast a few years ago, one of the class veterans will chime in on that. Amazing that NHRA wouldn't do more than roll their eyes over this... |
Re: IHRA Releases Nitro Jam Schedule
Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but anyone know what happened to Dallas Raceway? I know they had a bad outing for IHRA this year and at least one event was weather related. Did something else knock them off the schedule?
|
Re: IHRA Releases Nitro Jam Schedule
Dallas march 11-13
|
Re: IHRA Releases Nitro Jam Schedule
Div 9 schedule will be out today. Probably one of the better schedules we have had recently.

Re: IHRA Releases Nitro Jam Schedule
Are NJ events both 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile depending on the track?
|
Re: IHRA Releases Nitro Jam Schedule
most are 1/4 mile but at atco 1st part of the year they only go 1/8mile bracket racing
|
Re: IHRA Releases Nitro Jam Schedule
If you will notice the div 2 and div4 races have less events also. My opinion is IHRA cut back a couple races to get the car counts up at the ones they still have. I think that is a good move.
Look at division 9 for instance: Rockingham 50 miles Piedmont 90 miles Farmington 125miles Mooresvile 125 miles Dunn-40 miles For someone like Beard that lives in the middle of the state it's less than that. Then throw in out of division races Darlington a double-90 miles Carolina a double-225 miles Probably two more possibilites of Richmond double-200 miles MIR double-300 miles Then add VMP Sportsman spectacular-200 miles MIR Sportsman spectacular-300 miles. Get the picture now. Thats 15 races in 11 weekends spread out over 7 months. In this economy thats about all most racers can afford and a lot can't even do that, so then they start picking and choosing. THat why races like Coastal Plains had poor car counts the last two years. I'm not going to single them out there were other races too. Chip Johnson |
