They got the most rain they have ever recorded at one time over the last 200 years, over 10 inches between Friday and Sunday! I never quite thought of Beech Bend as a "low-lying" area, but this is unreal! It's going to be a monumental rebuilding job!

Now NHRA really does have a place for the Skii-Doos to race.

My Daughters first comment was" I dont know how much to dial up for THAT much humidity". She considered that "her track" winning SS back to back points meets... What a shame.... Good Luck Dallas getting it back together...

Don't bet on them canceling, a very similiar thing happened at Lebanon Valley a year or 2 ago and they were up and running in 2 weeks or less i believe.

Re: Beech Bend under water

As of today, beech bend plans on racing in two weeks. This is not the first time that it has happened. The NMCA race was scheduled last weekend, and the race was cancelled on Thursday. They did have a test-n-tune on Friday for folks that had already traveled, and then crews worked Friday night and all day Saturday to remove anything that could float away, and to get all they could out of the area. They also had to clear the campground of all the RVs and camping trailors, whether people were in there in them or if they were there for the season. My largest fear would be the issues with the scoreboards and timing equipment, but I would say the Sportsnationals would NOT be effected. From what I was told, the Barren crested on Sunday afternoon, and water is already receding.

Don't bet on it. If they raced at Indy knowing it would be rained out they Might just give it a shot. Make everyone travel to KY only to tell us to come back in a couple of weeks.. I bet the mosquito's are loving it.

News from Bowling Green water is off the track they are working on the clean-up pictures are posted on indieimages.com. Looks from the pictures that they will make it for the sportsnationals at the end of the month. Im sure they will find more bugs when they turn everything on but looks a whole lot better than a couple days ago.
