Mid Atlantic Super Gas Results Race #1
Well mother nature put a huge blow into the first weekend of the newly formed Mid Atlantic Super Gas Association first race at Atco Raceway. Saturday opened with Sunny overcast skys with high winds but as the day progressed the clouds rolled in. 21 cars showed up for the season opener which was not a bad turnout considering the weather forcast for the weekend. After the dust had settled the finalist were getting ready to make it up to the staging lanes when the clouds opened up and rained out the rest of the night. Rip Shaw and his Bowtie Bird T-Bird will face off against Iggie Boicesco at the next MASGA race June 2nd and 3rd at Maple Grove Raceway.

Hey Gary and Dave,
Did you guys have a good time at your first MASGA race? |
Sorry we missed it. Had tickets for Spamalot. If the race was anything like usual, Dave & Gary should have had a blast!

I had a great time, people were great to us Newbies, considering it was my 3rd pass ever in S/G, I thought my .000 9.899 off the trailer was way cool. My worst light of the day was an.012 & I lost by 13 ten thousands in the 2nd made me feel like I may have a future in the class. What I enjoyed the most was the excellent spread the organization put out after the race. What I need getting used to is knowing that some of these cars are actually faster than mine and can get around me unlike in S/St where only a couple can stay with me up top.
Had a great time & would recommend MASGA to anyone who enjoys running S/G and having 2 separate races in 2 days. gary |
Well Gary, isn't your car REALLY S/C capable?

I had a great time, was just like being at a bracket race only it was just us SG racers...Weather saturday was decent and its wasnt "Super Gas come to the lanes.....nah just kidding" like we hear at the div races...
Was good Rob to finally meet you in person... Food was great (especially the chili)... Unfortunatly Lucky wasnt lucky, I was (my .006/9.905, had to brag cause Gary did) in the first round, was sleeping against Iggie in the 2nd... All in all a fun time with a fun gang...looking forward to Cecil (cant make MG)... And Lynn YES YES YES YES, Gary's car IS NOT IS NOT IS NOT a super street car.... Saturday was my first MASGA race and I was very impressed with how well Lucky and company ran the event. Not only were there great people to race with and eat with, the 2005 and 2006 World Champs were in attendance. Not too shabby. Hat's off Lucky, his hard work is evident.
If you have a super gas car, come race a MASGA event, if you don't attend you are missing a great, well run, good paying, having fun race. (with a great bbq) How's that for suckin up? Sorry I didn't stay for drinks at the bar, wanted to beat the rain out of there. |
Matt, Gary, Dave,
Glad to hear you all had a great time at your first MASGA race, wish the weather would have been better and we could have got Sunday in. I think with positive posts like these we are well on our way to having that 32 car +++ field considering alot of the MASGA regulars were not there (Earl,Ronnie,Tom and Barb Seemann, Jim Fordyce, George D...etc). It's a fun organization and you don;t have to deal with all the BS like at a NHRA run event. So Matt you going to make some more races this year cause your wife has to make that Strawberry Dessert again cause it was out of this world. Dave good to finally meet you to in person since we have been e-mail buddies for the past year and a half. Gary feel good cause I had a .006 against Rip and was on the trailer Rob |
Hi all....
I am so glad you all enjoyed yourselves. Dad and I try our best to put on a good show and your positive feedback is the reason why we do this. MASGA is so much fun for me to run. http://www.classracer.com/html/happy.gif I added pictures to the website... www.midatlanticsupergas.com and will post the rest of the points after Iggie and Rip run their final. Thanks again to everyone who came out and pass the word along; MASGA is the way to go!! Leanne Luciano Lucky's Lady Racing SG 1707 & 170L |
