Joliet race

Does any one have an extra hotel room reserved that they won't need for the national event next weekend?
The family decided to go and I need one room for Friday/Saturday night. Or any locals know of a good place close by to try.

Thanks

There are no hotels near the track, the closest are all about 4-5 miles away
and they fill up fast.
The best deal is to check out about 8-10 miles away from the track.
Mostly west of the track on I-80 there are lots of Hotels.
I live in the area and you send me the ones you are looking at and i will let you know what areas are good or not..

Actually Bob, I thought about sending them to camp out w/ you in that luxury home on wheels you have. I may be able to persuade the misses to upgrade the box for next year after this weekend. Ha HA. I'll be pit bitchin' for Rob & Dewey, looking like the converter is broke in my hot rod. I'll be lucky to be able to make it to the divisional.

DoughBoy, What about the Motel 6 @ Larkin and I-80.

A motel 6 that is great? I stayed at one somewhere in Georgia on my way to Gainesville in Feb. Even though there were 3 of us, they wouldn't give me any more than 2 towels. My dad and wife got to the shower first, at separate times I might add, so I got to dry off with hand towels.

C'mon JJ that ain't fair. Some of my most memorable nights happened in a M6. Like Columbus in 93 when the shower spit out rust water and my crew chief tore the shower curtain off the wall. And the time we turned on the air conditioning in Hallsville TX (D4 race) and got covered in mites. Or the time my 350 lb friend plopped down in the bed next to me and broke the frame. Ruined the cuddle time.

That's 3 good reasons why I have an RV payment.

I'll leave the light on for ya!

That sounds like the Super 8 I stayed at in Columbus last year.

I'd look into the payment deal, but I can't see the payment during the winter months. Can't get enough time off to be able to travel and enjoy it. I'll take my chances, this time.

There's a Best Western due east on Rte 40, 5 miles from National Trail Raceway. I stay every year. It has a free breakfast that would compete with any truckstop buffet. Pretty reasonable rooms.

That's where I plan on staying this year. Stayed at a Best Western in Gainesville that was a freakin palace. Best Western I stayed at in Norwalk though, not so much. Found a cockroach in my ice bucket, and in the middle of the night my dad woke up to a bug eating on him. Picked it off of him and squeezed it. Splattered blood all over the bed and wall. Checked out that morning and didn't go back. Got my money back too. Stayed the rest of the weekend at a Comfort Inn in Milan, OH, just north of Norwalk. Same price, but 10 times nicer. Plan on going back there for the national event. And the Comfort Inn is half the price as the Best Western for the national event weekend, and only 10 more minutes down the road.
