Who's coming to KDS ???
 

I live here in Kinston and weather is looking great all the rest of the week. Thur = hi 78. fri = hi 81. sat & sun = hi 84. lows all week from 58- 65.. NO RAIN TIL MONDAY LATE !!!!!!!! For those who don't know , it is div 9 IHRA race. WHO'S COMING?

We are planning to come although the weather I'm looking at is showing scattered t-storms on Sat and Sun. 30% and 40 % I sure hope Danny is correct because I HATE rain at the race track!

I got local forecast just this morning. It( was) calling for rain but since has been updated to what i posted. You know how weather changes, but looking good as of now. If any changes i will post current weather update from my local weather station on Thur. It's worth the trip for the wings.lol Y'all come and support this race so we can keep having it here. We don't need to lose another track. !

I wish I could, as Kinston's been really good to me, but the scheduling doesn't work for me this year. I'm running points at Rockingham Saturday and Monday, and skipping Sunday's race there to go to the $10K Footbrake at Motor Mile. Memorial Day weekend is always pretty packed with conflicting events. If I could do all three, I would!

I'll keep an eye on the weather and adjust accordingly, though.

DW, if someone will loan me a Stocker for the weekend I would love to come down and kick your #&%. Hope you have good weather and a great time. Our motor is in the machine shop and we are shooting for Rockingham next month.

The nephews will be down there running the Jr's. I'll be up at Motormile on saturday/sunday with Bo. Some of you should stop by to see my brother. He'll have some samples of a new product we've been working on at work. Dad has been complaining about his hands getting tore up from using Fast Orange. We've been working on a few different hand cleaners at work for a few months now. We'll have two formula's for some people to try out. Still in the early stages, but feedback is always appreciated.

DW where is the best place to stay there. I use to stay somewhere in town, Holiday Inn I think.

Can't remember the name right off . But as soon as you come in on 70 look to your left just past Toyoto dealer. Then there is a Holiday Inn Express just a little farther on left next to Golden Coral and Wal- Mart. Then stay on 70 by-pass about 2-3 miles and there are 3 more motels at intersection of 70 & 258. All motels are about 1-3 miles from track.Call me and i will look up #'s for you if at home .

Herb, try the West Park Inn,1-252-527-1500. Its on the left going into town. Tom Gould told me its a good clean place to stay, with good rates, and Tom knows all the right places to stay. Mike

I checked on Hotels.com most hotels are 100.00 a night. What a rip. I'm going by Dean Sox's place on the way down so I wont be getting to the track til later.

Well part of the reason is 1= we are 1 hour from atlantic ocean 2= it is a holiday weekend.As you know motels don't care, they work kinda like gas prices.Sorry , i wish i could do something to help ,but i am on the wrong side of the fence.I would give all drag racers 40% off on fuel and motel if they would show IHRA membership.

I'm at track .About 50 rigs here now. 78 temp and partly cloudy. goin to the small beach behind the track to watch some jet skis . Howie Dalton is here with his t/s ride. L D Whitley, Phil Hilling along with his brother with that super nice 55 chevy c/m stocker.Rigs still rolling in as we speak. Be back later for more news. Supposed to test & tune tonite.

Over 200 cars here already . Great weather. 30 #s of grilled chicken and lots of cold bevs consumed. Still up and cars still coming in. Looks to be a grfeat race.

Just wanted to say thanks to Bobby Smith & the KDS crew for a job well done this weekend. Lots of "southern hospitality" from the Waters clan.
Also thanks to the IHRA officials, especially Robert & Marc Kinton.

Nice to see Marc out and about.
