Transforming our NMRA car to run SS this year, so far had to loose the cool cowl induction hood, and the tubular K-Member and lower control arms. Now comes the fun part trying to build a legal motor to run the numbers...

Ohh yea had to take the 2 stages of go fast juice out of it too..

This is a 79 Firebird that I'm trying to get started as an IHRA crate motor stocker. Likely be early next spring before we can get it into the garage. An awful lot of work to do before it sees the light of day.

1994 GT for O and P automatic. Spent 8 months building the car and now in the tuning mode at our local 1/8 mile track. Hopeful to compete by the Sports National in Fontana in the spring.

Building a 91 Chevy S-10 4.3 with manual trans for stock. M, N, or O. No pics yet, gotta buy a truck to pull it first, partner will go nuts if I start tearing apart without a replacement:) Will be running by late spring early summer. Erich Bollman, who runs an E/A Ford Probe in NHRA Comp. eliminator, is building one of the new 2009 Cobra Jet Mustangs for AA/SA. Amanda Matusek, the oldest daughter of NHRA Comp. racer Steve Matusek ( BB/AT Mustang ), also is having a new Cobra Jet built for AA/SA. Last, but definitely not least, " Big Daddy" Don Garlits will be racing one of the new Dodge Challenger Drag Pack cars in AA/SA and A/SA in Division 2; he expects to debut the car at the Bradenton Div. 2 race Feb. 13 - 15.

Sounds like everybody is building aa/sa . Ya'll think you gonna get some TV time with BIG DADDY cause he's running that class ?.Just couldn't resist that comment.So don't nobody get all upset ,just havin a lil off-season humor.Good luck with your new projects. I'm still working on my "new" old project going on second year.I will have a new Mark Lewis 283 stocker bullit.Just put it in this past weekend. Gonna race it next weekend.

I think you will be pleasantly surprized when you test the new engine... Mark is one of the best kept secrets in building engines... He can make them fly..... Tell him, I said Hi and hope you all have a " Happy New Year "... See yah next spring......... be safe, Dave

Thanks Dave. That is what i have been hearing about Mark .He built a new engine in my old wagon(now Father Time/ Good ol Mr Wilson)and that baby will fly .Still aint showed his hand yet > HAPPY NEW YEARS TO YOU and everyone else !!!!

Sold my big block 402/375. Brian Tilburg is building a small block to run F-G-H/SA? Same old Nova, new combination. Going against the grain with little block racing (again), should be fun.

goodbrush,,,, I don't know who you are,,but I look forward to meeting you and picking your brain and checking out your car. I've got a 72 (old bracket car) taking up space in the garage and its crossed my mind a time or two about turning it into a stocker. I'm also out here in div.6, so I'm sure I'll catch up with you.Good luck with your upcoming season.

My dad (Ed Chapman) is building an 85 Monte Carlo, gonna try to go IHRA stock GT/B with a 67 427/385/371 combo. But we have a vortec 350 in stock as well for plan B lol. Can't wait to see how it works with the 427 combo though!

I'll hopefully be out sometime next year with our D/S '69 Cobra. Just waiting to pull the triger on an engine. Not sure who to use to build my 428CJ. Also kinda waiting to see what happens with the runner volumes. Don't want to build an engine and not even get to make a legal pass with it.

69Cobra, the only guy you need to call for an FE Ford is Blair Patrick. 423-837-1514. He's near Chattanooga TN. You'll thank yourself down the road!

Me, for one. Among others, Jeff Velde, John Calvert, RJ Sledge all have used Blair's stuff, as well as Blair himself in his '68 S/S CJ Mustang. He's doing my new S/S FE motor right now. My stocker is a 429, but FE's are his specialty. He also has been one of the few that have taken FE's to Engine Masters the past few years.

Yeah, I pop in there every once in awhile. I thought Calvert used Kaft and Velde used Morgan. I guess that's what I get for thinking. Thanks again!

We'll have the avenger out next year in SS. Going to finish up the duster in the next 2 months for stock. Need more garage space.

Plan to have mine out in late spring,early summer 2009. It has been sixteen years since I last ran it & things have changed "somewhat" in that period so it needs a few updates. My wife said either do something with it or sell it.
Going to run it again in SS/N or O.

Too funny, I was pretty much in the same boat. After 20 years, the urge has returned (for better or worse). I threatened to buy a buy another car last winter but the guy sold it out from under me the nite before I was going to look at it! The wife told me if I wanted to race again, why not rebuild the old car or sell it.

I have found one thing in this that has stayed constant, it hasn't gotten any less expensive. Now I'm not only in the process of refurbing my old car. I'm trying to get a second car started for class racing.

we're still working on our 1997 SS/DS Camaro. Serious trying to get it done by this summer. After gathering parts for 6 years, we have everything except the wheels and tires. Now to make the time to put it all together.

Anthony Bongiovanni, founder of Micro Strategies - a prominent techonology solutions company in New Jersey, is building a 2009 Ford Mustang
to compete in NHRA F or G/SA. This new combination will utilize Fords latest 3 valve 4.6/300hp engine and is being prepared by Jersey based B&B Performance Machine. B&B Race Cars in Tennessee is doing the complete chassis construction, including interior and paint work and is in final stages
of all three. Larry Williams designed the color and lettering scheme. We plan to begin testing in the spring.
