“Live” from the 4 Wide and Double Divisional at Las Vegas!
Stacking started on Wednesday and parking started today. I think everyone was in less than an hour. This has to be the most open of all NHRA tracks. There is NOT a bad pit spot anywhere. The way the schedule looks, Stock & S/S will run @ the two eights tomorrow - AM & PM! First round Saturday morning. Many of the same cars as Phoenix, but I think the divisional will draw many more entrants. Later. Dyno

Re: “Live” from the 4 Wide and Double Divisional at Las Vega
I had to question myself that I was using the correct gate as I pulled up at 11:30 a.m. I drove right in, pitted, and went to get my credentials. I was done before noon. It's going to be the warmest day we have had this year in Vegas tomorrow. I have Paul Wong's R/SA 65 Valaint. My 10 yr old granddaughter is enjoying what her Papa is doing. I told her everyone will be chasing me. We have a tortoise named speedie. She told me to name the car speedie!

Re: “Live” from the 4 Wide and Double Divisional at Las Vega
Slight delay to the start this morning as there were some timing issues. I was told the times in the right lane were incorrect. The factor here is about .200 plus or minus .05. ProStock is just starting, so they are about 30 minutes behind. Corrected altitude is at 4100 feet, Results have been posted on DRC. Later

Re: “Live” from the 4 Wide and Double Divisional at Las Vega
Did they hot lap four rounds of Comp Eliminator after the days activities finished or are the DRC results just posted out of order?

The winds were a strong tailwind most of the time. Breakouts were plentiful first round, including myself. Better skills next time.

I made my way around but still need to look up a few more.
Dyno,,where did you folks pit?? Would like to swing by and say hey. Hopefully this week won’t be the hone as you drive like last week…hate wind! |
Re: “Live” from the 4 Wide and Double Divisional at Las Vega
Since they will be running the remainder of the Winternationals on Thursday following Q2, will they also run Stock class eliminations on Thursday or will class be moved to another day, perhaps Saturday? Has anyone heard confirmation of when class will be run?

My dad was able to get tickets and parked. He said there were lots of open spots.

Wednesday Test Day, $100.00 fee for two passes and maybe a third. Really warming up today towards the weekend. Jets flying constantly over the track! Plenty of parking after the pros pulled out. Anyone please add on! Later Dyno

Re: “Live” from the 4 Wide and Double Divisional at Las Vega
Seeing that I'm climatized to Vegas weather. 81 degrees is great weather for being outside. I took my ride home to look at a couple things. I was able to park in last weeks spot. Barely slowed down from gate to parking spot. I'm not the best photographer. If I see some interesting photo ops. I'll try and add.

Re: “Live” from the 4 Wide and Double Divisional at Las Vega
Dan Jeska is in need of some Sunoco 110 leaded race gas. Apparently, Sunoco is not allowed to sell gas at the LV divisional race. Or, if someone knows of a local dealer, please post a name or number. Dan is on the new black top, right hand side. Thanks!

Then they started in round E3 of the Comp Elim. (Those still in competition from the unfinished Winternationals), and I know the Mointain View entry I believe won the Winternationals, finished after dark Friday night under the lights. So yes, the DRC results probably looked messed up, as did the schedule. |
Re: “Live” from the 4 Wide and Double Divisional at Las Vega
I wonder why they were using Altitude Adjusted Indexes at the National
Event, and today they are using Sea Level Indexes? J.R. |

They goofed in stock. It’s been corrected back to proper altitude corrected indexes.

3 heads up races first round.

Re: “Live” from the 4 Wide and Double Divisional at Las Vega
7:30 PM local time. Almost 12 hours to get two rounds of time trials or qualifying in. Not much down time, the track did a good job of keeping everything moving. Lots of cars here. The Winter Nationals will start now and finish the event tonight, hopefully for everyone still in. Good luck to all! Super Street out first tomorrow.

Re: “Live” from the 4 Wide and Double Divisional at Las Vega
They seemed a little out of wack at the scales today. First there are no weight stickers. Personally the official had a lot of trouble find my number from the first run. I'm fairly confident there is at least one car missing on the superstock ladder (Paul Wong). Hopefully it gets straightened out for him.

I believe Paul is squared away.
