Re: drag brace central
You know the guys who do this do it as a service to us FOR FREE.They're fed info from the computor and have little time to put it up.Instead of calling them names, get on here and question the runs that don't look right instead of riding their ***** like a disgruntled
political party follower. I read the text on stock and he called one race a heads up that wasnt. On the whole they do a good job reporting on the race. I questioned a race the other day and got a PM explaining the situation which was a computor glinch. You can always take over for them if you can do better. |
Re: drag brace central
We are spoiled!
I remember where the Dragster was it and if the postmaster forgot it in the crapper, you were in the dark! There was a time when, as an announcer at NHRA, we got a real nice packet mailed to us with detailed race coverage. That was too cool in the day. Now we get all kinds of live info. I get frustrated too, at times, but we have to remember that most of the people behind the scenes are helping us to race. They love it even if they don't know everything about it. They usually get paid little or nothing. I guess cutting them a break would be the best thing. |

Maybe you should stay off the site if it doesn't meet your approval.

BTW, we are all the same people who have been here for at least the past 10 years. Jim The dumb *** who is covering the MIR IHRA race. |

Actually, heads up is inserted by our computer software, which takes the data right from the CompuLink system. If there is a glitch, it can misread the dials. That said, I should have caught that. Anyone who spots an error can email me at jsamuel@fastnews.net so that I can check it out and make a correction. We all want to make our reporting as accurate as possible. I also make no pretense about knowing everything there is to know about drag racing, so I look at correcting errors as a learning experience. I went on and fixed the report. Here's what happened...when the pair was put into the computer, neither the dial nor the class made it into our system. The software read that both racers were in the same class (in this case, none) and called it a heads up race. I just looked it up off the run logs and made the change. Fortunately, the winner of the race was correct. Jim Samuel |
Re: dragrace central
Jim, thanks for all that you do!
NHRA National Open coverage is lacking, is there a way to include the National Opens in your coverage? Thanks! |
