Fall 2001, so I'm told, on the deep stage issue. I was in the process of moving to Az, and wasn't on the computer much at that time . I would have told them what I said above. You can't just go by majority rule on such decisions. If that were the case , there would be nothing but Chevys out there. The rest would be voted out.
You have to do what's fair to all.

I don't have the fastest car but I can run 8.70's and if it came to a vote I WOULD vote for it.

When they made it illegal to use buttons in stock, NHRA did conduct a poll of sorts. But I dont know if that is the only factor they used in making the rule change.

To clarify my earlier statement, "NHRA will only make this change if it helps the PROs". If they make the change it will be to get us off there tracks faster so the PROs can go back to making all the fan's happy.

Re: The rumor of the day

Phillip,

I still don't understand what "PROS" you are talking about...

PROS run in Eliminators that have all heads-up racing; Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock...

There is no handicap racing in those categories.... period.

This rule change (if they ever considered it) would only apply to Sportsman cars... no Pros race in Sportsman Eliminators.

So, are you saying that it'll never happen because it won't help racers like Force, and Schumacher?

Sorry; I just don't get it...

Bill,

Did you read my response to your post about Bobby's post?

Re: The rumor of the day

Bill, What I am saying is NHRA wants us lowly sportsman racers to get out of they way for the money makers ie PROS. We don't bring in enough fan's to cover the expense of having us there plus at the small races everyone will get to go home earlier so there will be less payroll for the track to payout. We are a necessary evil left over from the Wally Parks way of running the club.

Re: The rumor of the day

Phillip,

I agree with almost everything you say, but none of that has anything to do with a double red light rule.

If I'm wrong, show me what it is I don't understand. The double red light won't speed anything up.

The only thing you said I don't agree with is that NHRA "spends money" running the Stock and S/S program.

I think they MAKE money from these cars and it would COST them money if they shut that program down.

They will TELL you it costs them money, but the figures just don't support that.

I think they know that and just want the racers in Stock and S/S to think that NHRA is doing them a FAVOR by letting them run...

PR gone awry...
