Re: Southern S/ss Association
I am really glad to see that this deal went off so well. I look forward to attending in the very near future.
Jim, where's your next idea ?? |
Re: Southern S/ss Association
First I would like to thank Jim Woods for the effort that he has put forth to get this series off and running. Having a 28 car field at the first race is incredible. Thanks to all of the racers that attended the race. Congratulations To The 'Mongrel' for the win and to my great friend Jay Slane for a great runner up performance in his first final. Great job!!!!. I was contemplating retiring from superstock racing but after going to this race and realizing there is a future for this series I will be working toward getting my Camaro back together to support these events. Hopefully some of the other racers in the florida area that weren't able to come to this event will be able to get to the next one. I can see where we could have 40 cars at the next event. Every one at the event seemed to be having a good time. We need to get the message out to everyone.
Thanks to everyone that helped to plan, organize and run the event. Mike |

Re: Southern S/ss Association
I neglected to post under the newly elected officers of the Southern Stock/Super Stock Association that Tom Ward (former Gatornationals Stock Eliminator winner) was elected to the Co-Race Directors position. Tom has valuable experience as he was the manager of Orlando Speed World, Lakeland and Jacksonville many years ago. Sean (Tom's illegitimate son) tells me Tom has been racing for almost 80 years! Tom will be a huge asset to us.
Also we have decided to award 17 year old Dana Summerton a "Perfect Light" jacket for her .000 light in the third round! This was Dana's first race ever! I am told she will be a regular in Stock in NHRA Div.2 this year. Watch out guys! She is a true natural. Jim |
