Re: Qualifying with no AHFS
Like it. I am now officially training my 18.4 lb monkey to get to minmum in B/SA, or maybe just let a really fat guy drive and stay in C. Here is the solution. My trained monkey will run B and I will run E in another car. Problem solved. Everyone will like my trained monkey.

How many cars can go a buck 20 under at Indy? I sure can't!

I didn't question this to make anyone angry and being told to leave if I don't like it. Of course I knew how it worked before getting involved. If I've upset anyone for my question, I apologize for that. I still bracket race some but I love stock racing and plan to continue to do so and is my priority at this time. I went all last year without a heads up outside of class eliminations. Most of the time I qualified in top half of the field (until I went west) and was about in the middle or slower of the D/SA class. |
Re: Qualifying with no AHFS
This decision was reached as the result of competitor requests and multiple conversations with members of the Stock and Super Stock Sportsman Racer’s Advisory Council (SRAC). During those discussions, a significant number of competitors expressed the desire to show the full performance potential of their cars during NHRA’s most prestigious event without fear of future horsepower and/or index penalties
Let me ask, how many members were really asked or even got a message about this subject before the decision came from NHRA? I think that before they put out a decision like this, it should be asked to the racers who participated at the event they are referring to. I'm a member of NHRA for a long time and participated, never an email or any other form of communications. I'm a racer that will never qualify at that race, but enjoy going. But now, they should rescind all HP factoring so that all cars have a chance of getting into the field and not just the cars that never got factored properly. Put the advertised HP back on the cars the way they came out of the factory. I still wouldn't get in, but it sure would be fair to the guys who have paid their dues. Casey Miles 248H |

Re: Qualifying with no AHFS
Just the opposite here. The reason I don't run S or S/S is the bracket racing factor. Would love to see it done away with, and all cars race to the finish line, with handicaps based off of either an index, or to really make it interesting, a national record. No break out racing and stock rules requiring majority of factory parts would be awesome. I'd be racing again within a month!!!. But I know it's just a dream, lol.
