There is so many great wagon SS & Stockers that have raced since day one but i would have to say if i was voting, it would have to be the Jack Mullins Pontiac Wagon in NHRA and Mike Boyles Charlie Brown Wagon in IHRA.
Thats my 2 cents on this!

That would have been Dwight Cox out of Stuttgart Ark.
He won SS at Indy one year with that car.

I just found my 1976 NHRA Rulebook. It shows the weight break at 15.00 to 15.99 for "R". I'm pretty sure that I ran "R" at Indy in '78 and "N" in '79.

I believe between '78 & '79 or thereabouts, they combined the six half-pound weight breaks between "I" & "N" (inclusive) to make the current one pound classes of I, J, & K. Everything else moved up at that time so the '65 Chevelle Wagons became "N" cars instead of "R"s. The 283 has been moved up, down, and around on HP from 220 to 235 in those cars, so who knows what they weighed at any given time.

Jerry,
I'm pretty sure that the class change took effect at the beginning of the 78 season.

I'm pretty sure Jimmy's wagon says SS/Q on it .That would be like the Cieri Bros. in 72-74
(15#) If the wagon was pre the 2dr HT, that would be in the same era.
Jimmy Parker could probably tell us about this.

I ran at 16 # in 73-74 with the Bel Air 4 dr (SS/R).
Later , I remember some 4drs. in SS/T and SS/TA ,so they got moved down a letter for some reason.

I remember now, I think. There was a 12.5 class in S/S (SS/N) Remember Lingenfelter's conv. ? They did away with it for some reason (maybe 75?) and it moved everybody up one letter, below it.

It is a Q Mark but it wouldn’t it have to be '74 or later due to the 2018 permanent number?Bob Rice

If I remember it, I'll ask Mr. Bridges, next time I talk to him. And I'm fairly sure the wagon came after the two door hardtop.
