I am still up in the air on that. I have a lot of money in my cylinder heads now and just want to make sure they are done to the rules.

The numbers are important to all of us, most of us have been going by the numbers already provided by NHRA. I am hoping that they do not change. What combination do you run that Hettler is sending them to NHRA? Hettler is a great engine builder and person. Gary was a D-1 guy for a long time, please tell him I said hello.

All,
I just got off the phone with Bruce Bachelder. We had a very nice conversation in regards to this subject. He stated that there will be a list for stock runners although it may look like the SS list. He said that it should have been posted several days ago on the Lucas site. He also said that they will be pouring heads in stock during teardowns. If you are over what the SS list has you will be disqualified. In 2010 after all data is compiled there will be separate lists for stock and super stock. Hope this helps and adds some clarity to this topic. Thank you all for your comments!

Well this is a hoot...They have been pouring runners on stockers starting 2002?or longer. When I asked why, they told me they were just gathering data. So I don't have a problem with this but as Rod Green post #47 and RJ post #49 said, there is a problem with some of the SS Specs especially the 340 mopars. I think way back when they were gathering data for the cc list, some of the ones they checked had been acid ported and some were bone stock withh the tulip valves and all. Most of the virgin castings I've checked are 3 to 8cc small for the SS specs. Seems to me they have enough data, two more years of gathering isn't gonna give them anymore insite. I think they are just telling you what you want to hear just to get you off their backs or they just don't know what to do with out hearing a lot of greif...

Bud, being that you are a well know engine builder as well, and build a lot of these heads for Stockers; I'd like to ask that you send your data to Bruce as well. What he is interested in is the runner size before you do any work and then cc the runners again after you do your competition valve job and any other work that you do in that area. Let Bruce know what issues you are finding with the 340 Mopars as well. He wants to confirm that the 2010 list allows enough room for the any valve job rule.

Sounds like someone may be retiring in the next couple years and it won't be their problem anymore. What a way to handle a sticky situation!
