They don't even MAKE Pontiacs anymore.

Oh; I forgot... it doesn't have a Pontiac engine....

So, what kind of an engine DOES it have??? Oh; it's a "one-size-fits-all" derivitave of Warren's D.R.C.E. engine, which was a derivative of a big block Chevy... which is a G.M. "corporate" V-8.... that comes in ~NO~ 2012 car that I know of...

I get so confused.... :(

It's called a high dollar Crate Motor car Bill. Jim

What is the time limit on the Pontiac? Are they ignoring it or will they ALL be Chevy bodies soon?

What exactly does the engine that the Mopar boys have come in? GM was using the Big block way more recent than any big blocks in a Mopar Not to mention when was the last charger two door car go down the assembly line. At least I think that is what body that they are running.

I used to LOVE Pro Stock but I have to admit, Pro Stock has become nothing but a high dollar crate motor class. It bares absolutely no resemblance no the cars of even 5 years ago let alone the original intent. The HEMI is still based loosely on the original street HEMI. The GM engine however is a whole different power plant than the original BBC or any engine offered by GM. Does it even matter now? Nah, it's all crap now. It all makes as much sense as painting TOYOTA on the side of a Chrysler HEMI based engine powered TF car! Nah, it's all crap now. Jim

Just does not make sense to me but you guys on here probably know it all better than I do

:-) peace

Wouldn't it be nice if NHRA made the driver wt 200# (170#? Anyone flown this century?) and if you are below that you had to add it at the seat, not move it around the car for extra weight distibution?

Well, that "Hemi" doesn't resemble anything that ever came down an assembly line, but neither do any of the other motors. I was just pointing out the absurdity that exits in calling this Eliminator "Pro STOCK."

There; not a part on ANY of those cars that ever came down a stock production assembly line.

There's not even a Pontiac assembly line in existence, any more... :(

So, where's the "STOCK"???

But this is nothing new; and has been going on for years. I will have to admit that even though those cars are not configured anything like I would like to see them, they do make for some VERY tight fields, generally, and for some close racing. A Mopar and a G.M.-powered car in the final at yesteday's Pomona race, and the MOV was about 8 feet... That's close for two different powerplants, I think.

They just need to change the name of the Eliminator from "Pro Stock" to "Expensive Crate Motor."

Most of them are Avengers. They do currently offer them at your local Dodge dealer. Jim
