Clutch just arrived from Brian Browell's shop yesterday. Now I can attach the flywheel to the installed crank and get the final flywheel to block dimensions over to Browell. Brian is building me a new bell housing (similar to the QuickTimeInc) and is building the bell housing to accomadate my desire to run a Bickell billet fork with heim joint attachments. Brian has the bell housing nearly complete and should have it done the week following after receiving my measurements.
Rich Bogart should have my new rear wheels done this week. Once we have those we can move the car to another shop on the facility.
Things are moving along and I want this car back home for final assembly (new fuel lines, data logger, etc., before June.

Maurice,,, welcome to the forum,,,looking forward to seeing this combo at Mission, hopefully in May at the Lordco event. I'm curious to see how everything fits under a flat Nova hood. I sure wish Chevrolet would've used a Cowl Induction hood on Novas back in the day, but they didn't. Theres a racer down here whos been eyeballing a similar combo in his '69 Nova for SS/FA.
Good luck with your project,,, you've got some good names helping you out, take care.

Danny... I have heard rumors of another "West Coast" Nova. Is it just "eyeballing"or is it in process. I had quite a set back in Oct. 2011, after picking the car up from the body shop (after a 9 month wait), I figured we'd take the car out to Mission to weigh it, before assembly. The car broke loose in the trailer and completely demolished the front end (still hurts), although extremely happy with the weight. The body damage was finished in Jan. 2012 and went to "painters prison" to be completely repainted 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping to get it back this week. I have waited along time to put this program in place, it represents years of huge homework and 2 years of spare time in the construction alone. I have met some incredible people since I initiated the project. I know that Chevrolet should have ordered a larger carburetor for this combination back in those days, because we'd be making power past 9000 RPM today (hood?). The car also is set up for a manual transmission and small block, than you can use a hood scoop and take most of the weight out.

Jeff...Did you end up doing the back half of your car? You had mentioned that you may be going a different direction when I bought that "Outlaw" kit from you. What are you old wheel dimensions? Thank you...Maurice.

No...the shop drug their feet until I was blue in the face. So I said screw it, I might as well go back into Stock. The wheels in the picture shown are 15 x 9's with zero 4 1/2" backspace. Unfortunately I sold them when I thought I was going into Super Stock! That's why I'm having new 9" wheels made by Bogart.

Maurice,, the car I'm referring to is in progress,, back half is done, suspension is in, wheels and tires are here, so its a roller. Pieces are being picked up, although slowly, since funds are a little tight for the young man right now, but his resolve is still in the direction of a 375/396 combo.
You mention a hood scoop on a small block-stick setup for yours, but I don't know of any traditional SS class with a Nova where a hood scoop would be legal.
Sorry to hear about your setbacks,, can't wait to see the finished product.

I am upgrading the suspension on my GT/MA Olds. I still plan on running the 9" tire. I am not going to be a 1.0 car but hope to be able to run under at any track.

I had toyed with the idea of converting it to a stock class. But, I would miss the sound of my high winding "283". It's in the blood.

If things go right, I plan on attending some of the D5 NHRA events this year, both division and open races. I have not ran that much the last few years, and time is getting short. I best enjoy this sport while I still can.
