Re: Do Stockers need correct year seats?
My statement was not a threat. It was intended for someone who had sent me a private message telling me that they would make sure I was thrown out if I did not run the correct seats. If someone is willing to protest me and force me out of a race because of fear that a seat will somehow allow me to win a race then I have the same right to protest them. Everyone is willing to argue over a seat issue and make direct comments to me however when the shoe falls on the opposite foot people are offended. If I have anything to say to anyone directly trust me I will say it. The person who sent the message knows who he is however I am more of a man than to post his idiotic comments in public.

Re: Do Stockers need correct year seats?
The racers that get it…..get it.
The racers that don't get it, don't get it...now or ever. Bob PS: Why don't we split the topics on this forum so that racers that are posting with information that's pertinent to the IHRA ONLY can post there and people that are posting with information that is pertinent to the NHRA ONLY can post in their section? That way when the sanctioning bodies (IHRA or NHRA) view this forum they will understand the difference in the needs and wants of their racers. |

Re: Do Stockers need correct year seats?
I recieved an email a short time ago. I would like to appologize to everyone on this topic. It seems that after the discussion on here NHRA has decided to ammend the rule book as follows:
Floyd, Using Camaro seats in your Monte Carlo would not be acceptable for Stock Eliminator. The rulebook states under upholstery “must have full factory-type seats;’ and as you stated must be of factory type. With that said I can see that this could become an issue of how one interprets the current wording; so I’ll make an amendment to specifically state that “seats must be correct for year and body claimed.” Pat Cvengros Technical Services Representative (626) 250-2295 Looks like I will be trying to find Monte Carlo Buckets because according to D. Gracia in tech notching the seat is also not legal. |
Re: Do Stockers need correct year seats?
End of topic. Now let's go on to the next one.Maybe in about 30 years or so we'll have the rulebook straightened out.
But hey,at least this is a move in the right direction.Thank you to someone at NHRA HQ"s for clearing this up. There Ken and Jack.See,I give them credit when it's due. |

Re: Do Stockers need correct year seats?
This whole topic borders on the absurd. NHRA lets cars in that were never made with crate motors, blowers, 13:1 compression cnc ported heads, manifolds that look like sheet metal manifolds and they are busting somebody's balls for not having the correct year model seats. Are you guys paying attention. These new cars are 50 to 100 horsepower light and you all are worried about someone having the correct year model seats.

Re: Do Stockers need correct year seats?
Well Travis I wish you could answer the question I asked you. Can we run a 67 year model bucket seat in a 67 Wagon in K/SA? You know the seat that was available to come in the car.
You guys arent reading the post correctly, the issue is they said we cant run any bucket seat in a car that it was an option. |
