Friday morning update 8:20 AM, not good !

They are drying the track, but there is rain all around us. It is just starting to sprinkle very light.

I'm trying to keep an up beat attitude, man its tough, but there is nothing we can do but wait it out.

If I here of any changes I will be back asap.

I made a warm up lap around the pits at 745. I really didnt think we would run at 8, because I passed a second dryer by the scales and it was 89% humidity then.
Well, we'll see....

Racing is Delayed
By Rick Green

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Due to the hard rain yesterday at Gainesville Raceway and then more rain during the night, racing is on hold. The NHRA officials are planning to start today's racing activities at the 41st Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals with Competition Eliminator at 10:00 am and then move into the Alcohol categories followed by the Pros and then Pro Mods will follow the the proffessionals.

The sportsman pit area is very wet and they are asking Stock, Super Gas, Super Stock and Super Comp competitors to not move and NHRA officials are hoping the grounds dry out enough they can get a run at the end of the day.

9:25 AM update, it has started to rain again. They were going to start with comp at 10:00 AM. As far as Stk, SS, SC and SG they were going to run all the other classes first and then us. Now that its has started to rain, I guess the schedule will change again.

I'll back when I know more. Its hard to get pictures because most cars are still in the trailers.

Don't get me wrong, I love LOVE being at the races, but if I were in your shoes Ken I'd already be on the road home!

You're a trooper.

Because unnecessary cruising on your moped is frowned upon, but warm up laps (or high speed trips by pro support vehicles) are not?
