Or, second scenario, pull up for first rd. Pair up just like time trials. Put a number on the window and run it down the lane. Whoever has the best package, wins the race. No need for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or even seven rounds of racing. Look at how much money, time, and track abuse will be saved. We can even cut down on global warming!

Quit trying to change everything about class racing to make it fresh. Gimme a friggin break!

I like your style.

In head's up, first is worst. Won't make any bit of difference for the pro's.

I too have always wondered why the red light was left off the first or worse list.

Think about it! There's a first or worse rule. Except when you red light??? Makes no sense.

Could you guys imagine the breakout rule being the same? You breakout by .01 and your opponent breaks out by .05. The .01 breakout loses because he got there first? It wouldn't even make sense right???

As it stands either does the red light rule.

Don't give them any ideas. Just think if ALL redlight and breakout offenses automatically put you on the trailer. It'd sure take care of sandbagging in a hurry! LOL

That's called a Dash for Cash / Run for the Money / Bogie Race. ;)

Pretty sure that it wouldn't be a big change for Compulink to program into the system.
Oh, don't get me started.... you'd think it'd be easy to make the Autostart system recognize deep stagers, too.

I used to be adamantly against the Worst Redlight rule, primarily due simply to resistance to change, and in deference to history. These days, I wouldn't really care which way they did it. My attitude is, "Tell me what the rules of the playground are, and I'll go play on it."

It's the same in eliminations! Think about it. If we are heads up, and you're -.002 and I'm -.001, you're worse. And first...

Bruce,

I have read your posts on this board for a long time; I know you to be a really intelligent guy in a lot of respects, with loads of experience and savvy as regards drag racing. You have been a participant in this discussion about worse red lights on many occasions.

Given all that, your current posts make me wonder if you understand how this system would work (if implimented, which probably wll never happen, anyway), because of some comments you've made.

To wit: Phillip marvetz (sic) posted his opinion: " If NHRA makes this change it won't be for us, It will be for the PRO'S" (which made no sense to me, because the double red light rule only comes into play on handicapped races, and NONE of the Pro races have handicaps.)

"Bobby" then said, "In head's up, first is worst. Won't make any bit of difference for the pro's." That was just an attempt to correct Phillip's assessment of the situation.

Then, you posted, " Bobby,
You kinda missed the point. Heads-up as in eliminations."

I don't understand what you meant by that. Phillip posted something that had no validity within the confines of this discussion (nobody is talking about "Pros" OR heads-up runs, at all) and when he (Bobby) points that out, you're saying he "missed the point?"

Exactly what was the point that Bobby missed??

Fill us in; I'm obviously not the only one who was puzzled by your contention that Bobby "missed the point."

Quit trying to bring logic and intelligence into a perfectly emotionally charge discussion!!!

I noticed nobody trying to argue with what Randall Klein or Bob Unkefer said. Definitely two of the best posts so far.

Doing this just flat out makes sense. At least, if it's something that isn't terribly hard to do. Which it has been indicated (I believe even by compulink) that it is not a difficult change to make in the system.

Phil,

What the heck does this have to do with the pros? This only matters to handicapped races. The last time I checked all pro classes run heads up. How does this matter to them?

I hear you guys saying how this is gonna change everything. How? Give an example? If you can that is, something tells me a lot of you don't understand how this would effect things. Or you don't want to be honest about it because you have a car on the faster end of the spectrum.

A lot of changes in stock have been bad. But you somehow take that to mean any change is bad. This one is in the name of logic and fairness.

I would like to have this answered as well. I can see this playing in my mind.Wow I just knocked the tree down, only to find out 330 feet later I bulbed ! Am I missing something here?? So now the advantage goes where?? Now I feel like crap run over twice.
