We used to use the title of this Neil Young album to describe the little wide spot in the road we called home..."Everyone knows this is nowhere"

Eddie, That album, especially Down By The River, had the grooves worn through it at every party I was at in 69-70 ;-)

Recorded by many, but this is the first commercially viable version, from 1965.

Missed a few days while at the Sports. We stunk the place up with one issue after another, but it was great to see everyone...INCLUDING the one and only Billy Nees and Superfan 1 that I previously had only met on here.

How bout some ELO today, something to make you smile a little.....

I could use a smile with the moving and a real estate agent we don't hear from for days. The house sold in 24 hours, she thinks her job is over.

Re: Musical Tastes

Flashing back to 1980... I had to make a run down to NJ to pick up a 283 block at Tony Feil's. I asked a lady friend to take a ride with me, so we jumped in my 68 Ventura, with enough trunk space for 4 blocks.
Coming back, we just crossed the Tappan Zee, heading for 684. We're listening to a NY Rock station on the factory AM/ FM/ reverb. They began previewing the new Roxy Music album, Flesh and Blood...I remember this like it was yesterday.

The first two songs on side two are here, but I'm going to throw a curve ball here. The first one is actually an extended re-mix from a You - tuber. ..Just as well.
The second is one of the few cover songs that I like. They put their own spin on a classic...

This is a band that I missed in concert, too busy with life. This song and "Whipping Post" were my favorites in Southern Rock.

Want to dedicate this AC/DC song to a very dear friend that I have known for the better part of my military career. We followed each other in our career being an enlisted then becoming an officer. Steve was as Marines/Marine and a true friend. He loved AC/DC, so Steve this one is for you...RIP, November 30, 2016 and Semper fi:

Doesn't take a lot on inspiration to post another MB song.....

The places I've seen

And the road in between

Make me wonder why

I'm searching for my dreams up in the sky

I heard the call

And in the mirror

I saw the writing on the wall

And I had to fall

In love with you

Eddie, I also was a huge Grand Funk RR fan back when I was in Jr. High. My brother John had purchased a nice mahogany console radio and turntable from Montgomery Ward with his paper route money. This thing was huge, actually a good sized piece of furniture. It was in our living room and the rocking chair in front of it was my "lounge". I spent hours upon hours in front of that thing. Steppenwolf, Rare Earth,Three Dog Night, Grass Roots, Beach Boys, Sly and the Family Stone, Who,,,

Anybody know Lorraine ? LOL

We can thank Peter ,Paul, and Mary, The Byrds, and The Turtles from bringing a little known folk singer from Hibbing, Mn. into the American culture.

Best wishes to Howard Kaylan, who's had some health issues lately.
