JJ DaBoss from Memphis Sesame Street Outlaws owns or is leasing at least part of it. That may have changed since they lost the tv deal.

Again, the IHRA has been a clown show for the last 20 years with numerous owners so why would anybody think this time is going to be any different?

I agree Ed it will take a lot of effort and money to convince anyone to show up and they'll probably run out of both before they do show up lol

Exactly, that brand of drag racing has died along time ago.

As we all know, people make the company. If the new owner wants to make
an immediate and lasting impression, he will have to offer a much better
product than the competition. Building it up over time won't work. He has to hit the ground running. I'm am sure the fellow who bought it is a pretty astute business person, and I wish him good things. I hope it gives us another viable place to race. If not, we'll carry on.

I wholeheartedly agree J.R. problem I see is I don't think most on the class racing side will give them much of a chance. I'll try to support if they have a race in my proximity and it makes sense for me but not going to haul halfway across the country for it until they can prove something.

As I sit here and read these comments I just have to shake my head. So many people complain about everything NHRA. Then along comes someone trying to enhance class racing and some people just want to bring up the past and how things were in one of IHRAs past iterations. You have a new owner and it seems his plan is to include class racing. I am going to give them the same opportunity to provide us with a safe, fair, and fun place to race that I gave to NHRA, AHRA, NMCA, and others. Will everything be perfect, will I agree with everything they do, of course not but I have never agreed with everything any sanctioning body does. . There will be growing pains but I hope that they are able to survive and thrive so that we have two sanctioning bodies, IHRA & NHRA that will be able to have a positive impact on our sport and its future! When they had Nitro Jams here at San Antonio TX they were sold out spectator wise with a few fuel cars and a supporting cast. I had a great adventure racing stock eliminator there. I hope they have success. I would attend for sure when my SS car is done. They were ran about the national events are run now in NHRA.

If stock Superstock and other sportsman classes are truly part of their vision, there is opportunity.

Most of the local or regional associations were built to fill a void left by the IHRA dissolution and or a desire to race in a better atmosphere than NHRA provides.

If they hire a sportsman liaison to attempt contact with as many associations that they can maybe they can find some common goals that benefit all.

This site has several associations listed of course and people that know and race with other associations.

"hope" is not a strategy for success
