Re: Seeking info wo23
Great video! I saw a quick glimpse of "The Fidget" 68 CJ Mustang that Mike Ulrey would later own.

Re: Seeking info wo23
Does anyone know how I would, or who I would be able to contact, about finding info about the class record the Reid Whisnant set in this car? I have had no luck finding his ss/ea record anywhere. Any help is appreciated. thanks so much--Chris

Re: Seeking info wo23
1969
The 1967 WO23 Coronet {Model 440} Street Hemi cars were classed in SS/E or SS/EA {7.50 to 7.99 Wt/Hp} in 1969. It was on May 4, 1969 @ Suffolk Raceway in Virginia. It was a Division 2 WCS Points Meet. I think the Record was set at > 11.46 @ 124.27 MPH |
Re: Seeking info wo23
Thank you so very much. When I found Mr. Whisnant's obituary, it made reference to 67 Coronet in Phoenix Alabama too. I assume it's the same car. So cool! :) Can you recommend any websites or anything? I'm eager to learn all that I can.

Chris, 'Phenix Dragway' {Phenix City, Alabama} is where the NHRA Record Meets were run. They usually had their Points Meet in early April. As per January 1969, the Super/Stock 'SS/EA' Class record was set at {11.51 @ 124.03 MPH} |
