The Class Nationals was a success right around the time all the belly aching was going on about the EFI cars. And the Trucks. You talk about the new cars not being able to run stock if they get factored? Giving them 100 horsepower won't keep them out of stock, unless you rewrite the rulebook. |
Re: Lack of integrity
See.... its started already with the mention of something. What would YOU do? Leave the mess NHRA started as is and just pretend the problem would go away? The best suggestion I have seen on here has been to let them have thier own class until things catch up like IHRA has done. Nothing EVER changes on this forum ! Just keep getting screwed and enjoy it. Have fun !

Do they seperate the DP's And CJ's? |
Re: Lack of integrity
IHRA runs them in separate classes. Probably in some sort of computerized/injected classes.

Re: Lack of integrity
Yes, IHRA still has the old A/FI through M/FI classes, seperate stick and auto classes. Last July they added AA/FI and AA/FIA, for "2008 and accepted factory muscle cars only. No existing FI cars can remove weight to move to AA". 7.5 to 7.99 pounds/HP
Sounds to me like they need BB, CC, and DD/FI also, now. |
Re: Lack of integrity
Last year we invited George Wright and Jimmy Ronzello to come race with us at the Martin IHRA national event. (he was runner up by the way)
Prior to the race George contacted Mike Baker at IHRA to verify a class. At that time Mike Baker took the high road and immediately created AA/FI and AA/FIA for the CJ Mustangs with their own indexes. Jim and George raced in AA/FI class. He was quite adament about not allowing the new CJ's to run rampant in IHRA, yet also did not want to discourage anyone from racing one either. Mike Baker did the right thing. I assume that he will do the same for the DP and 10 CJ cars on a similar vane. BB/FI or BB/FIA, CC/FI-CC/FIA etc. To the best of my knowledge Ronzello has been the only CJ to ever run in IHRA stock and Roy Hill ran his 10 CJ in SS. No DP's have raced in IHRA as of yet that I know of. See link below. http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCSt...r2009#indextop |

Re: Lack of integrity
I can honestly say that I didnt pay attention much to the CJ's before today. They really need their own class! Roy Hill and others proved it today.

Re: Lack of integrity
I believe if the CJ's and Drag Packs are given thier own class NHRA will promote the hell out of it and forget the rest of us or drop us. The answer is to just get the factor right.

Re: Lack of integrity
If they get the HP they need they will be gone from stock.
you can add only so much weight to make class. nhra has to have a shipping weight on these cars, what is the limit for added weight. it will get the lower class dp where it belongs.aa/sa, a/sa. Hammer |
