We had big plans to be there because I will be in Tulsa a couple of days but then I got stuck on call for the weekend so I have to get back home Friday. After I whined a lot she thought we might try to get to Topeka.

Right up the road from you on highway 71 in Carthage, Mo. I made it down your way several years back on my way to No Problem. I got totally confused at some goofy intersection in town and forgot to find you. When I didn't see you at the track I was going to stop on the way home but went thru town around midnight. I keep planning on getting back but as my wife says, I always have plans for something but never finish them. My race car is still sitting since the first shake down runs 5 years ago.

I gave up the boat after we ran at Firebird several years ago and started on a Dart super stocker. Wow did I ever miss that cost estimate. haha

I've just finish reading my Stock, Super Stock Magazine from 1996 and I really think that it's the same thing happening again. No way for a Pro Stock engine can belch fire like a fire breathing dragon unless NOS is applied. Go back and read the article, it's quite informative, it might shed some light on the subject. Nice to see that stock or super stock haven't reach these measures .

You simply do not know what you are talking about, pretty common here lately.

Kurt Johnson had a couple of back fires on startup a few years ago. He didn't have nitrous on his either. Heard it do it myself.

Do you really think nobody ever goes into someone else's pits and sees the other guy's cars? I can assure you Greg Stanfield and others walk into Mikes pits, Mike goes into theirs. Do you not realize how they get looked over, and how often, when they are qualifying at the top? Do you really think the NHRA tech guys are too blind and stupid to find it? Are you actually that ignorant?

Yeah, a car magazine is where you will find all the latest dead nuts info, those fast guys will tell magazine writers everything they know, straight and honest. 1996 or any other year. Is the internet and car magazines where you get your info? Do you actually know any of the competitive Pro Stock guys?

Why not go to a race, and go to Greg Anderson's and Jason Line's pits and ask them if they think Edwards has nitrous?, then go ask Stanfield, then go ask Allen Johnson, then Warren and Kurt. They would know more than any 1996 magazine article, or some internet message board poser spreading "I heard"s.

Mr Wright, mechanically, please explain what can cause a major flare out of the scoop. No broken valve can cause such carnage. Yes, you're right that we shouldn't be jumping to conclusion, I've talk to people in WJ's camp and they also feel that there is something not to kosher with the latest explosions. Kurt's fire was caused by a crack cylinder gasket. Look, I know that a lot of people treat others like mushrooms, just because nobody has gotten caught doesn't mean it's not happening, same thing happened in 94 until Rusty Glidden told the truth which cause quite a stir at the time. I'm not trying to start something here just don't want to be snafued again. If Edwards win's this week-end he'll quite his dis-tractor if he doesn't, you be the judge. Mr Wright it's only my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.

So true. Anyone remember when Bob Glidden wrecked, the first thing he did was take his coat off and cover the carbs and intake because the scoop was gone.

I was at that race in Atlanta and as soon as he got unbelted he covered the manifold with his fire jacket. He barrow rolled eight times if I remember correctly.

After he got the car loaded up I stopped by and talked to him and he was the nicest guy even under those circumstances.

Warren has never been nice, he signs autographs with a scowl on his face and when the Dodge Boys were beating his *** he never failed to bad mouth them.

Cracked cylinder gasket? What is that? Do you mean head gasket? First, how do you know that? Second, he ran as well that weekend as I had ever seen him run at that time. He was qualified well. I heard it bang on a couple of different start ups in his pit area that weekend. Leaking head gaskets will slow you down.

Everything Rusty Glidden did at that time has been looked at over and over. Do you really think everybody is too stupid to catch that now? Really? Evidently you don't actually go to national events and hang around the pro Stock pits. Other than Anderson's and Johnson's, guys are walking in and out of each other's pits all the time. Between rounds the scoop if laying right there in plain sight for everybody to see. The strut-type scoop mounts, which were supposeldy used to get the nitrous up to the scoop, are not used much anymore. Mike's is just held on with two dzus buttons, nothing else connected to the scoop. I go in his pits at any national events I run, and to his shop just outside of Tulsa here. There is NOTHING there!! I have watched Mike change engines at the track, even helped at times. There is NOTHING there!

Since you obviously know so much, just how much nitrous to you spray in one to only pick up one or two hundredths? Not tenths as one guy was saying, there aint no tenths in NHRA Pro Stock.

As far as Wayne County, nobody really knows. It does look very suspicious that they could never make it run again, and those blocks could have been repaired. I feel like there was something there, but I wont proclaim them cheaters because I don't know for sure.

Jerry Eckman? I don't think he should be allowed back in the gates. He actually crews a car right now.

If Mike wins again this week, he will the quiet squirels, sorry I meant quiet his detractors? How? Did you see how much faster he was last session? Guess the key board racers will think he sprayed it again? Probably.

It amazes me that so many will post crap about something have absolutely no knowlege.
I have opinions about the space shuttle, but...

Catch Warren away from the races and he is nice. Very good sense of humor. He doesn't want to be bothered at the track. No doubt he needs to work on that. He also has no respect for anybody not building their own engines. I'm sure Mike is included in that. Doubt he will tell you Mike is spraying his, however. He seems to feel Allan Johnson's Dad is the only one out there his equal.
