The good news is the odds of winning.

Congrats Mike Beard, and to really everyone who won down there. I personally would have loved to have gone and seen that facility myself, but its probably like 1380 miles or something. So little too spensive risk vs reward. Not to mention the blizzard in the south. And my condolences to my buddy Bob Marshall! ouchie ouch ouch...
As far as contingency, I don't really blame or condemn anyone, its just disappointing, thats all. Sign of the times to some extent I guess. Its just a little hard to take, costs twice as much to go as it did 6 years ago to win a third the money. And with all the new safety rules I'll spend somewhere between $1800-3000 just to be able to pass tech, and not all items are contingency items. I love the sport and will continue to do it until its beyond my means. But that point is close. And I'm not cryin, i'm just sayin.. :P

Bob drew A.B in the first round, heads up in SS/AM, Bob goes 9.30 on 9.42 index and A.B. goes 8.77 without really trying; maybe Bob decided to save fuel and tires.
