Did a pro stock bike go down? Live timing has been stuck on Underall and Bostik for a while.

DRC has the bikes listed by points so guessing they called it for the night.

When the track temperature got below 70 degrees, they called it for the day (night). They had just started pro bike.

Either do that or Q1 Sunday first then go straight to eliminations before the pros start their show. Hell you don’t have but 32 cars each in S/SS. I’m glad I went last weekend, but I feel for you guys that are still there. Good luck to all.

From what I understand, a PS bike oiled down the track. They called it after that. I assume track temp and estimated cleanup time made up their minds.

I take it the speed makes it unsafe you say. I was kind of impressed by the 1.20 60'.time as well as the E.T. and mph. Not my call what a tire can take.

Are FSS cars limited to a spec 9" tire, or do they have options? Can they fit a 10" or 10.5" tire without requiring mods that wouldn't allow them to fall back into regular Stock if desired?

FSS, only 9 inch tires are permitted,

Good morning everyone... Its 35 as type, and the high for day is supposed to be 59. The winds have died down, its sunny... but man its cold.

We are still scheduled to get one qualifier after the finals today. Stk, SS, SC, SG and TS are all schedule to run a qualifier and time shot after all finals except Top Alcohol Dragster, they will have their final after us.

More photos from last weeks race. I hope to get some photos of Stock and Super Stock but with the fields being so small I may not have time today. I should be able to get the Showdown cars today.

A “Thank you” to the guys running the pumper trucks that were sucking the water up in the pit areas yesterday. I had 4” of water in my pit area after 3 days of rain. They did not get to the “triangle area” until late in the day, but at least they made a great effort in the dark. Maybe with some luck, I’ll be able to get out of here. The spectator crowds were huge yesterday considering the cold and windy conditions.

Hey guys... since its going to be a long day for just one run I thought I would do some weather calculations. The weather will change a bit as the day goes on, but dam its quick now... here are the numbers.

Temp 39
Humid 42%
Bar 30.25
DA -1473
Wind tail 5-7mph
Water grains 14.4 ... never seen it this low

I made a test run last week, and went a 8.30. Using the above weather numbers I'm getting a prediction of 8.12. Yikes, I don't need that kind of hp... my index is 9.40

For reference, these were the numbers for last weeks test.

Temp 75
Humid 33%
Bar 29.95
DA 1682
Wind slight cross
Water Grains 46

As Ken said, plenty of time for Sportsman racers to get ready for their lone run of the day.. and to take the "proper precautions." Or just get everyone on board with a mineshaft condition. Regardless, that also means we have plenty of time for a conversation with last year's Super Stock champ, the friendly and likable Sterling Simmons. Thankfully I can fast-forward through all the whiny interviews. Was telling some guys that Torrence picked Pruett for that special program because it would be easy $$$, and since she didn’t qualify for today another whiny interview avoided. Win-win.

I can’t erase the image of Torrence sucker punching that kid during that interview a few years ago. He didn’t stick around for the fight.

Man it's fast for those few who can get ahold of the track. Erica's run, and also Karen Stoffer went 6.68 on a bike and Bill Skillman went 7.62 in Factory Stock. I hope the schedule still allows Sportsman cars.

Looking at the airports weather in Gainesville, Barometer is at 30.22 uncorrected and 30.37 corrected. The DA is at -123.21 ft. It surely should be fast if they call Stock to the lanes tonight.

Hey folks... I don't have an exact count, but I think 34-36 stockers made a qualifying pass. Super Stock is ready to go, but I can not get up to the lanes. I'm working on my car, as soon as I get any info I will post.

I have some photos from FSS, first and second round... I will post later. They said they are having technical issues, that's why the live timing went down.
