Remember when the "New Cars" had a separate class designation ? Stock/SA? or Stock SAI. Then the powers to be decided that there was no reason to separate them, so the carburetor cars and the injected became the same in class. In my opinion its been a disadvantage for the carburetor cars ever sense. Fast forward to now and its quit evident that technology has advance for the injected cars, where the carburetor cars are not able to keep up to same pace.

Easy answer, separate the injected and carburetor cars.

Cost? maybe $5.00 ? for an additional letter to class designation.

Lol! ^
I don’t have a problem grouping the new cars in stock, I have a problem with the factoring. It’s soft and e v e r y o n e knows it. It’s not just the EFI, their motors have triple the technology of the older cars. Head flow, intake, EFI big cfm, pistons cut for small package, electronics, chassis, etc..

Dano, we would need 800# off to run with them.

Merry Christmas All!

The AHFS isn't perfect, and the sandbagging game can be exasperating, but overall I think things are okay. I don't begrudge anyone the performance they are capable of running. "Soft", "Oddball", "Paper tiger" whatever the moniker attached it usually is a sour grapes issue.
Race what you want. Run fast if you can or don't. The rules of the game have been written and rewritten but if you choose to play the game either accept the rules, or become the SRAP or try changing them with approval by presenting your case to the governing body.
I do this for enjoyment. If I was as frustrated about it as some guys sound then I would do something else.

I know Bobby Brannon ran over 1 second under more than once. He even ran 1.20 under once. I think al cords ran over 1 second under on a couple passes. I just didn’t see that combo listed in all of the classes that got and index hit or reduction or no change.

Only stating what they have recorded in in the averages they released after Dallas. Brannon’s 1.20’under at Vegas was addressed with an instant hit of 13 horsepower the following week.

Someone please educate me. Why can't NHRA lower the triggers .20 in Stock and Super Stock so the fast guys can run their cars further under without being hit with HP?

What would be the meaning of having a triggering system then?:)

Trigger is still there, just .20 faster. I bet there are many many cars that wish they could go -1.20 without getting looked at.
