Rod in AZ

The P&G shifter deal came with the first Camaro. That Camaro actually started out with the same shifter used in the Chevy II.

Re: Questions re: "Grump's" 66 Nova

Great thread guys...thanks Lyn for the time frame on the towing accident. I saw the red
car race Jere Stahl for Stock Elim. honors at a NHRA points race in the summer of '66..
and although Jere won that day, I became a "Grump" fan for life. I was only 14 at the
time, and we only went to the drags once a year....The next summer, got to see the
SS/C '67 Camaro...and he took SS honors that day.

My question is....about when in the 1967 season...did he first have the Camaro out?
Think I saw years ago...in a magazine...that he took the white Nova out west to the
'67 NHRA (and AHRA) Winternationals...and ran it in Super Stock....possibly as a
SS/E? Maybe the Camaro not quite done at that time?

Modelman....great job on that...can't wait to see it finished!

Think I saw the Camaro in a magazine...competing at Bristol in '67....I was hoping one
of you "detectives" would maybe dig up a photo of the Camaro...before it got the
full decal treatment....

Anyway...that's an awesome bunch of shots of both Novas....great job guys!

Good Morning all, attached are a few pictures of the completed chassis, with the hand made exhaust system finally hooked up to the headers. I'm working on the trim for the body now and then comes final assembly.
Enjoy and again, thank you to all that provided information.
Have a great day and let's hope it will get warmer in Central N.Y. soon.

Hi all,
Well it's finished. I have attached a couple of shots here. I changed the front tires to better represent the size of the tires that were on the actual Nova and applied the decals as they were on the "766" car which ran for a while in SS/C and B/FX. I wonder what changes Bill made to the car to run factory experimental. I again want to thank everyone that provided their historical memories and the photos and articles to this thread. I would not have been able to build this replica without all your help. I also want to thank all the other folks that frequent this site for their patience in reading about a model instead of 1:1 scale cars. I know where to look for answers for future projects though.

You did a really nice "build " here, and the detailing is awesome. I have seen photos of the real car with a big plate under the front grille area with a Jenkins Competition emblem on it. Not sure why he did it, but I think the front of the car looks much cleaner without it.

Hi Danny, Thank you for the positive comments. I've seen pictures with that "air dam" on the front bumper also. Didn't care for it, so I left it off .
It was fun build, especially making the fender well headers. I learned a new skill doing those.
