Pay the same money for 24 issues that you paid for 48 (sorry, 47 last year, issues). Plus no Rulebook anymore (but for another ten bucks, you can purchase one--yay). I haven't been an NHRA member in several years. Really glad of that, now. Typical NHRA--pay the same (or more) money, to receive less. |
Re: National Dragster publication changes??
I just checked out the new website, http://nationaldragster.net/. I didn't spend a lot of time on it; but, at first glance, it is pretty good.

Re: National Dragster publication changes??
I think it is crap to cut the product basically in 1/2 and continue to charge the same amount. If most of us were to spring this on our customers ... how well would that be received. True they have added "value" thru a members only web site. But there already are numerous non NHRA controlled sites in existence that offer immediate news in its entirety rather than "censored" reports NHRA often issues. Am I bitter, absolutely as I just renewed for $106.17 CDN and the "nice" lady never mentioned the "enhanced" new plan for less issues at the same money. I always look forward to my weekly "dragster" in the mail box, but now I am really disappointed and feel I have been duped.
Thanks Classracer for the vent ... |
Re: National Dragster publication changes??
Went to the site and thumb'd thru the "issue".
Lets just say for me canceling my subscription was the right decision. |

Re: National Dragster publication changes??
I was an NHRA member in the 80's and 90's. ND was never anything but propaganda, in my opinion. I wonder what their circulation would be if it wasn't a requirement of membership? (At least it was then, I don't know about now.)
NHRA in general, treats their members like dirt. All you have to do is read some of the threads on here. I don't miss any of it. |
Re: National Dragster publication changes??
Hard to read in that format, I can't seem to get the print larger. Like the idea of not wasting paper but only getting half as many sucks. I guess we'll wait and see and then make the decision on rejoining later this year.

Re: National Dragster publication changes??
# 5510 is now available, had enough, local races only

Re: National Dragster publication changes??
When I renewed in May '12, I specified "print only" for my Dragster subscription however , this morning I received an NHRA official email titled "Your electronic version of National Dragster is available to read". In the enclosed email text they stated that this electronic version was "in addition" to my requested print copy. We'll have to wait and see how this works out but I suspicion that the above action is simply a "phase-in" transition to a biweekly, electronic only Dragster in the not-to-distant future.
