Re: IHRA Pro-Am Schedule & D-1 Open Schedule
Dan,
I was'nt smacking you. My point is IHRA wants to have this premeir event but racers that live in that area know nothing about it. Not real good promotion. |
Re: IHRA Pro-Am Schedule & D-1 Open Schedule
The reason for no doubles in division 9 is the tracks got together a couple years ago and decided not to have them. The tracks are so close together they fear less participation if the have the doubles. Thankfully Farmington has crossed that line and will have a double this year. We will see where this goes

Re: IHRA Pro-Am Schedule & D-1 Open Schedule
Chip, I can understand the first year but last year was advertised well I thought and talked about alot on this very forum. I can't imagine anyone involved in class racing not knowing what they were but i'm sorry they done away with them. I think I'll be using my nhra # some this year atleast they have national event that are within a days drive of me.

Got a clear explaination about the Intent of the program. This year was a big learning process been away from Class Racing for 25 years. The Sportman Spectacular was suppose to be like a big National Race. Behaved more like a larger Points Meet. Wish they had advertised and organized it as a "National" Meet. One day should have been heads up class eliminator racing, national records and bragging rights. The next day run the races as normal. Never hear the gossip about someone setting a record in IHRA. Still wonder how NHRA can fill a 64 car Stocker Points Meet field and IHRA cannot. One reason heard is the resistance to go 1/8th mile racing. For all the rules and grief I am reading about NHRA. IHRA seems more racer Friendly.. D |
