Re: HolBrook Racing Engines Makes History!...

Rumor is Holbrook failed tech for illegal or maybe wrong heads . Run wont count and he should get some time off . Im curious as to why he was allowed to drive someone elses car for the remainder of the race if they were in fact illegal .

He built the engine and knows the rules,Chris chime in and give us the skinny on that record run

If you try to set a record and are found illegal you don't get time off no matter what is wrong. It's been that way for a long time. Bo who in there right mind would try to set a record knowing they would fail?

You only get time off if NHRA picks you for tear down and you fail and even then it depends on what is illegal.

Heard it was the wrong casting number on the head. Did not match casting number on the NHRA spec sheet.

The Boys in blue left a digit off the casting number. Not happy

Let this be a warning to everyone, especially those with the new factory cars. Be sure the casting numbers on your engine parts match EXACTLY what is shown in the NHRA Engine Blueprint Specifications. You can find them on...

http://www.nhraracer.com/

If the numbers do not match, you had better be finding out why they don't.

Charlie , why would that be any different then if you went to Indy to try and win class and had the wrong part ? This same thing just happened at the Dutch, Guy went 1.20 under then had the wrong heads . No record and no penalty

So let me understand this , wrong part number or wrong part on a car trying to set a record and no penalty , you just dont get the record ?

But try to when class at Indy and you get tossed for a period of time if you have wrong part # or wrong part or your engine builder messed up on your heads ?

I'm not complaining about the racers involved but if this is true it's BS. You can't toss some and not others . Part numbers are posted on the NHRA website for all to see.

If your a engine builder setting a national record you should no the right part numbers and from what I see all the casting numbers were sumbitted to NHRA for the 2013 CJ before the D2 open race

Issued: 6/5/12 PC , Revised: 6/12/12 PC, 8/13/12 PC
Head Casting Supercharged 2013
A= RFCR3E-6C064-AD, RFCR3E-6090-A, BR3E-6049-C45H, BR3E-6050-C45H, RFBR3E-6090-CD, RFBR3E-6090-CE, RFBR3E-6C064-CD, RFBR3E-6C064-CE, RFCR3E-6049/6050-AD

Crew Cheif your correct
Recently I got a new blower for my 08 CJ and it did not have a part number on it . However my original blower came with a part number. When I could not find it on the new blower first thing I did was call NHRA to see what was up . What I found out was that the 2010 and 2012 CJ's have no part number for the blower and that the replacement blower for the 08 did not have a part number as well.

Happy Holidays

Bo if you are setting a record you are not picked at random for tare down. And people know that going into the race. Which means you think you are legal. Who would travel to set a record and know they would fail? People come to national events and don't know if there are getting torn down. That is the difference. It has nothing to do with the what you fail for.

If you fail trying to set a record then you don't get the record and you don't get to race. That's it.

Re: HolBrook Racing Engines Makes History!...

Charlie, I think that is not correct. Depends on the infraction. Some stuff is just wrong, and some is just the wrong side of a judgement call. I found a couple of pieces with more than one casting number, but the one it needed was on the part. Also there are parts with several part numbers and only one casting number, and they won't all pass. I think the casting number is one thing and some of the other numbers are the machine process to finish them for different motors that go on the same basic motors. At least that sounds good.

That has to be either a Ford or NHRA clerical error. Not cheating.
