Re: Video at NHRA events

Daryl is pretty much right.

IHRA is almost non-existent to Miwestern racers. NHRA is no picnic and it continues to "draw flies" with the Pro categories dwindling away to just a couple competitive teams.

If I had anyting to do with NHRA I would accept ANY EXPOSURE as a marketing tool. I agree that accidents and such may have no place on the web as lawyers LOVE THAT! But as far as sportsman racing videos showing wheelies, burnouts, in-car views....they are a great way to pass the winter months. NHRA camera views are always "clouded" by clutch smoke, sponsor stickers and who can tell what funny car or top fuel wing the camera is in?

No put a camera in a 8-second Hemi-4-speed car, a SS/GT that leaves with the wheels up and you have something worth watching and there isn't a Force interview to be found. A complete round by round video of a Sportsman event would be awesome if it had reaction times or was tied to 1320go.com. I would pay to watch that.

BTW....great job Daryl at the Moser Shoot-out!!

I don't totally understand their video policy, but that is certainly nothing new.

I used to support IHRA,but it is beyond me how an organization can be called INTERNATIONAL and not even have more than a couple of events within several hundred miles of Chicago?

I stayed at a hotel in Columbus,Ohio this past weekend and there was a sign that said 50% of the population of the United States lives within 500 miles of Columbus,Ohio.

If this is true, you would think an organization called the INTERNATIONAL Hot Rod Association would conduct several big events within this area.I guess not.

No this was NOT directed to just you. I was asking a legit question and directing it to everyone. Im not pushing IHRA......I havent worked for them for about 12 years and really couldnt care less about IHRA other than knowing some really good car crazy people who work or have worked on the tech crew. Upper management there is just as bad as NHRA's in different ways. Same as the D.C. BS.
If there is something I dont like about anything I do I would see what could be done to change the situation or take my money someplace else. Just to use other people as an excuse dosent cut it. Why would anyone spend all that money to build, race, and travel just to have a cookout with friends from another part of the country in this type of hostile inviorment. I feel like this is an honest question to think about.
Congradulations on your Moser win by the way.

I heard they were going to stop letting fans have old slicks too. The marketing minions will have this stuff stacked up for sale in the aisles next! LOL.

Probably better that I don't seem myself hogging the stripe... LOL But if it accidentally gets posted somewhere, feel free to PM me. ;) I think I had an issue with the car on that run. Can you post it for analytical purposes?
