Or are you planning to wear out your expensive stocker running the bracket program?

After the pizz poor turn out at Palm Beach I wouldnt be surprised to see the sportsman cars of all classes were dropped at all of the freak shows.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NITRO JAM AND IHRA COMING TO TUCSON

The Tucson region has always had a rich tradition of great motorsport events. It is a community that has always demanded the best. And now Merles Southwestern International Raceway proudly announces that the best is coming March 25 and 26 as the 2011 Arizona Nitro Jam invades Tucson.
The 2011 North American Nitro Jam Tour will feature Top Fuel Dragsters, Prostalgia Nitro Funny Cars, Nitro Harleys, Fuel Altereds, and jet cars. And for the first time ever fans will witness the Cool Bus Wheelstander along with a Jet Semi as it takes on the legendary Grave Digger Monster Truck.
After weeks of meetings and voting from local racers, Southwestern International Raceway has confirmed that the facility will be sanctioned by the International Hot Rod Association. According to new owner, LJ Motorsports and CEO Bernie Longjohn the IHRA affiliation will insure additional racer friendly programs including the Summit Super Series.

And some people call the NHRA a circus? WOW! Whats with this? No wonder the car counts are low.

What on earth does that have to do with car counts? The "circus" doesn't interfere with the sportsman racing. Sportsman are on-track continuously from morning until about 5pm, then we're done for the day, then the next day, we run pretty much start to finish. I don't care if they have mud wrestling pandas after we're done racing. What difference does it make?

You must get about 10 time shots.

No, that was Atlanta last year... :p At Palm Beach, we got two qualifying runs Friday, two qualifying runs and all of eliminations on Saturday. Bigger races are typically two qualifying runs and first round on the first day, then the rest of eliminations on the second day.

I say again... what does the "show" have to do with sportsman car counts?

Here's the deal Bob,

Per Bernie Longjohn of SIR, if they can get 24 S/SS racers to commit to the March race, then a combo race will be added to the above advertised event. Bernie is wanting to add our cars to the show, and there's 12 interested racers so far. Now that the track is IHRA sanctioned, next years event will probably have the regular categories and the contingency postings as well..... :)

I'd pay extra for the pandas.

Since it's only potentially a combo race, I don't think so.

After the bogus bracket car that got in the National Open @ speedworld I would hope that scales will be mandatory AT LEAST! And as a contributing sponsor to this feature I'm going to insist that scales as well as a thorough technical inspection be done. If we wnt this to suceed it has to be done as right as we can. Grade point hunters in bogus bracket cars need to stay out of this.
Still sitting on 12 confirmables. Come on guys let me know if this will work !
