Best thing about Tommy Ivo is those were his design and built by him(I'm sure others helped) I remember the photos from Hot Rod when they had him as the front page Hook. This is what would be my ultimate race car hauler.

I snuck a look at RJ at the toters, haulers and motorhomes...........where in the H*LL do you guys get that kind of money! 300k for a hauler? I could race the rest of my life for that kind of dough.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to rigs like those but 300k will get you a nice truck and trailer and you could stay in the best hotel in town....maybe even the Bridal suite!

It all looked so fancy that I went outside and set fire to my lowly dually and 28 ft. trailer......now I won't be so embarrassed.....lol!

I dont have any pictures thank god but my first tow rig was a 4cyl 5spd ford ranger and a homemade trailer..it was built by a circle track guy by screwing galvanized pipe together and then welding some thin steel on top for the car to sit on. I actually drove to albany ny with this from florida and towed a tube chassis car home..in 2 days up and back!! Young and dumb(or is it fearless)

One of the best combination I've seen in the past was Carl Brucher's from Pennsylvania, he hauled his Altered with a 69 LTD with single axle trailer with a front tool box. He travelled all around Div 1 with this set up which was well balanced and econimical for him.You don't need a huge set-up(nice to have it when you need to change a transmission). Whatever gets you to the race track. Just nice to see the engineering that some people will use to help solve a problem of transportation. CR

Lew

Did you get a phone number or any details of the sale?

You could probably consider my set up as state of the art.Circa 1975.But it works for me.
And one advantage is that at some tracks I can get a primo parking spot due to the
smallness of my setup.I also can save a spot for a friend with an open trailer and suburban by side parking the gremlin till he gets there and then we both work off the back of our trailers, all without hogging an extra spot.

Ed, this is exactly what I am looking to do. What size trailer do you have axels etc? Also, where is your water tank for your sink and where do you carry your bed?, in the back of your truck? I like the use of the space. Sure beats my open trailer. Thanks.

Ed, nice rig, this is what I'm talking about, enjoying racing with all the comfort you can add. Great set up. Claude

I forgot to add one of the drawbacks of leaving the car out overnight. It opens a door for any "creative" artisans. This one gets an "A" for creativity.
