I would like to say thanks to vistacruiser67 for posting the pictures of Pete Kost and his S/S oldsmobile. He is now 81 years young and still out there doing what he loves. At the Division 6 banquet this year, Pete and his brother Bill were inducted into the Div. 6 Hall of Fame. Like I said in a previous post we lost Bill a few years ago, but the Kost family (Pete & Dino) is still active in drag racing in the northwest.

Whole lot of pages here and no mention, save Al Segers photos, of one of the early killers with Olds, John Troxell.
The National Record certificates and class win trophies from these cars covered the walls of his shop.
The coupe is now the late Johnny Williams' Cajun Nightmare car.

Al, thats me at 18 in the Hooker T shirt.
I spent a lot of my "wasted youth" working on the Olds' and others with Jack.
Johnny told me it was Jack's car.

Wagon later raced by Paul Mayo with minor paint as seen above. Seen below racing as late as 1985 out of Mayo ownership. I heard the wagon is in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

I believe Ron bought it from Jack , after that I don't know I till Johnny got it.

I remember all of them , used to go to the shop every night to work on them.
That picture of the flat roof wagon was taken right down the street from my current shop .it's the front of a Junior High School , Jack drove the car down the road from his house for it .
Same road that all the cars got tested on !

Good info. You got anymore pictures? Here is another shot of the wagon. Raced briefly by Dick Griffin before Paul Mayo took over. Vista still exist I hear. The dark colored Troxell convertible was painted white (not the same car as 76 Gatornationals) and converted to a 72 and raced as Supremacy by Al Seger before he went to the flat top wagon. Flat top wagon owned by Keith Curry now. Convertible was destroyed in a wreck in the mid 80s resulting in a fatality.

I just found a few recently , but they are in really bad shape .
I'll check with my other Uncle in that pic , Rich Meyers , I know he has a few that haven't been seen before .
The ones Jack has , I've seen here before .

Well I emailed these to Jack and his son about a year ago. His son contacted me trying to put a photo thing together for his birthday. I think his birthday is in December. I sent him all (none of which I own) the pictures I had and then at his son's behest I called Jack and got his email. Talked to him some on the phone. He thought I was from a magazine. I told him I'm nobody.

I have Dick Griffins 1978 Brown and tan 442. I have owned it for over 30 years now. I did lots of test and tune racing with it, but no official events. I also did some legal street racing events with the car for about 10 yrs.
I have made modifications to the car. Probably wouldn't have if I had known
the history of the car. Haven't run the car for about 5yrs. Was last running 10.70's. It sound like the car has had several owners since Dick campaigned
It. 2 people have approached me at the track in Stanton Mi saying they owned the car. And a local Motocrosser named Denny Bently came to my house saying he also owned the car. A local Racer named Jim Brehm identified it as Dicks car. A friend named Dave Eberhardt helped me with various stages of the project when I hobby raced "Cut Loose" which is painted on the trunk deck. Came across your 2005 post asking about car.

Buddy Ingersoll's 72 Cutlass, Ron Garey's cars, and anything by Danny Lattimore. I have a photo of Danny's Delta 88. Dave Audet is in the (Capitol Raceway) photo. Tom Goldman is Jack Troxell's nephew. All good guys.

I ran a 72 Vista back in the 90s..with help from Pete Kost. Horse Power Heaven took a pic at Woodburn on the scales back in 01. Captioned heaviest super stocker in the country at 4770.

I purchased the coupe from John and ran it in SS/OA. Sold it to Bob Kieser of Twin Hills Oldsmobile in Pennsylvania and was subsequently sold and became the Cajun Nightmare.
