Re: Bracket Racing vs Stock/Super Stock Racing
How about this for you "Class Racers" No class eliminations and Wally's unless your class has at least 6 cars. Might stop all the one-off racing..LMAO........

Re: Bracket Racing vs Stock/Super Stock Racing
Once again, this is nothing against bracket racing and in reality doesn't even affect me I get enough grade points to go where ever I want because I actually race instead of trolling message boards looking to disagree with everyone. Its just the principal behind it and if you're too stupid to see it then so be it.

Re: Bracket Racing vs Stock/Super Stock Racing
The low quotas are all about money.
The last decade or more NHRA has had a hard time selling the Divisional series to track owners. Why did the alky cars go to a regional format. To lower the cost of a Divisional event... That is why. The low number Quota and the hi grade points required to get in a National Event is the product of salesmanship. Hi Grade points require participation at Divisional events. That need to participate gives NHRA the tool to sell those events to track owners by automatically guaranteeing more divisional participation. That way the track owner has a large number of participants to pay his expenses. The divisional tracks want bang for their buck. Why do tracks bring in the X275 cars, the Skidders & Bracket racers? A bigger show to advertise and get spectators or get more entry money. It is all about money or as they say "Follow the Money" |
Re: Bracket Racing vs Stock/Super Stock Racing
Adger has great points here. Track owners do need to survive. They don't need a Divisional race in most cases to make money. In fact, often the divisional series were more risk for them then the benefit. Instead of creating fake demand by limiting quotas too low, maybe they should test more positive ideas to attract us to divisional meets. I think they should consider offering class st some divisional races. Make it class on Friday and charge for it. Doesn't have to be much of a cost, but enough to keep the bean counters at bay. so make it simple. No AHFS Friday class. Race for a class Wally. Make entering class an option only for those entered in the divisonal for the same class.
It would let those that can and want to let it out wide open, do so. The ones that don't ...don't have to. I think it would add to the overall divisional car count. Quote:

Hope picture shows up.This is how a Wally can be won these days. Top 10 fastest street car event tonight at AZ Wild Horse Pass. As of right now 10 cars are in the class. Wallys at one time were a honored piece of hardware to get but now they are everywhere and giving out to any class the track sees fit. The value of getting one of these just isn't the same. |

Class racers, who have been accumulating grade points, chasing casting #`s, trying to stay under the index, 3 and 4 day weekends, missed work days, regional travel, motor homes or hotels, enclosed trailers, golf carts, etc etc. Can the local NHRA sanctioned track offer more one day S/SS combo races to help growth? Just sayin... Mike A114 |
