how can you blame a car count on the fuel?

i think he is refering to the new spec fuel from sunoco and the issues they are having with it.

Correct. Comp has to use the same specific Sunoco fuel as Pro Stock, SR-18, which is very inconsistent in its formulation. It requires a complete different tune, the fuel batch varies the performance of the engine and does not always pass fuel check even when it is fresh. Pro Stock has experienced the same issues as Comp.

I, on the other hand, have tried adapting a purpose built GT car into a modified class with some success but cannot compete with the new style Cobalts and Cavaliers.

Personally, I would run Comp all day long if I could. I love racing SS as much as anyone but love the thought of no break-out that much more. Unfortunately, unless I switch cars, I am stuck in SS.

Yes, there is a big difference in performance between a Comp Super Modified chassis and a Super Stock GT car.

So what would b e the biggest difference between the two chassis. Is it weight bias, engine location, center of gravity, rigidity, or something different entirely?

Might not be a bad time to go Comp racing I always fancied myself driving some sort of blown SBF powered classic Ford in Comp. Too bad I'm getting out altogether and putting everything up for sale :(

When comparing the 2 cars, it is a night and day difference in all the items you listed!

X2! Chassis builders say it is easier for them to build a Super Modified car than a GT car.

For Norwalk, there are more than twice as many S/S cars (70) entered as Comp (30). It's much easier to get a high % of entries when the quota for Comp is less than half the cars of S/S.

Competition Eliminator 34 30 88.2%

Super Stock 75 70 93.3%

Yes, I understand that.

I see no reason for panic. Lol.
