Re: '67 Camaro E/SA redo

I love workin' on these carbs, and learning what makes them tick. I set mine up to about 3/4:1 on the secondaries...im running a '68 Buick carb, with '70 main body... picked up quite a bit, with those mods...i went with a Chevy throttle shaft, mainly for ease of throttle hookup. Why am i telling you this? hehe:) It aint pretty, but its a mean footbrake carb...

Looking good Brent! I'll have to wait around eight weeks to find out how mine acts. Thought it would be unique running a 1967 model on the car.

Thanks! I thought it cool to run a '68(even if it was a Buick) carb , but found out that it couldnt feed my 462, ran out of fuel at the top of each gear. So , i figured it wouldnt feed my 400 either, since i will be turning a few more rpms. I used the 462 as my test dummy, and learned quite a bit from that. Im very anxious to get the 400 running. Gettin closer everyday. Time and $...hehe
WHat carb is on the car, now?

It's a later model that came with the car...appears to be a quality piece. I know it has 68 primary jets in it...just put 67's in the '67 hehe.

Re: '67 Camaro E/SA redo

Carb isnt in front of me Brent and I can't recall the number. I know someone commented before it was jetted like a SuperStocker. No primary needles in these either. I put CE secondary rods in the '67 to begin with. The car was originally running with 40 degrees timing...I have since backed it down to 36 degrees with the new distributor.

Re: '67 Camaro E/SA redo

I have always had the best luck with DA .044 tip secondaries on K hanger... anytime that ive tried to richen it up a tad, i see loss in 60ft( about .01 or so) and about .02+ in the 1/4 mile... with any engine the carb has been on. I went from 11.04/1.48/120 to 10.81/1.440/122.33 with just those mods i mentioned earlier... in the same basic conditions...and being a Pontiac, big cube, i run timing locked at 33-34* ... the 400 may take a few more degrees, not sure yet....
