Re: Weather for Belle Rose??
Good point, Sammy! We do want the tracks to make money. It's the only way that they can stay in business. However, why go the entire month of May without a race and then schedule it in June? We have raced at Memphis during the summer by scheduling eliminations on Sat night, not necessarly a good decision but it did leave the opition of finishing the race on Sunday if rain came. I can understand that it's difficult to schedule 5 races and not race June, July or Aug. It places too many races too close together and it increases the chances of a race being rained out. I'm glad that I don't have to make out the race schedule. It's really a no win situation. The only solution that I can recommend would be to poll the racers or let everyone know that you are trying different schedules until the most successful is determined.
Trey,
I am sure that you will be trying to balance the needs of the track owners with the needs of the racer. A new owner may have thought it would be a good idea to have a bracket race(extra income) and then have a Div race. Now it becomes clearer why it may not be a good idea to reduce the Div race by a day. Do as others have done and have timetrials during the day and hold the bracket race that night. I would suggest that you find a group of racers who will give you good advice and rely on them when making decisions that are out of the norm or when you must decide to move a Sunday race to Sat or Monday due to a chance of rain, etc.
To the racers, let's give Trey a chance to suceed. If he suceeds, we all win! At least he's trying to get the racers opinion. I would say that my biggest complaint with NHRA at this time is that they don't listen or they make or don't make changes without racer input.
