Re: Virgina
A friend who has years of experience with this combination put his flat hood back on a couple years ago. He said there was no additional performance to be found in the air hood. I believe he also said the flat hood is 18 pounds lighter.

Re: Virgina
I have a 69 camaro flat hood I would sell if someone needs one. I can bring it to Indy points meet. It is primer, I took it off my 69 and put a cowl on it. The car is going to be a street car, so I did it for looks. It is a original GM 69 flat hood.

The hood after market is 349.00 for a decent one Shipping was 250.00 And what do you thinks its going to cost to custom match a custom paint job? 300-400? |
Re: Virgina
Ok Mark, your right. Most likely with those prices you are close to a 1000.

Re: Virgina
I guess I got lucky. My cars were in Cali for the winter, and although both of the cowl hoods had already been painted PEAK blue, it wasn't that big of a deal to get another one. Bernie C found several of them on the local Cali Craigslist for around $100. Rochester, NY Craigslist, not so much, lol.
I also had a flat one at home, but it wasn't worth the shipping cost. It was far better to trade it to a local SS/JA friend for a good 4 bolt block that's now in the wagon, lol. |
Re: Virgina
Hey Dan, are you going to the points meet at the Grove and if so what kind of "cake would you prefer. Lee and I will be there to see you get it.
