Dave Thomas developed the aftermarket 3 speed. We have a T/Flite 727. Fords got them already. Anyway NHRA is considering the thing now. And yes we would be in the shootout. We have run a best of 9.29 in the No Problem heat and another 9.26 with the other car, but we could not duplicate it. Got to low .30's. I don't think that will get in the Big Show. Last year we ran 9.47 fastest in Indy with a two speed. We have not touched the motors. 000 has over 300 runs that we know of.

The cobra jets haven't been that fast weighing 3675 lbs. Quote C and W Racing.

I understand that was in great air but they can run that fast is all i was saying.

Ok cool, thats good to know. I wasnt aware that the did. I was told that it wasnt till the new 400 trans was developed that they superseeded the old powerglide from 2008 and new. Thanks for the info update.

How have yall been? Are yall going to play in the showdown at Indy?

In the 2012 Cobra Jet manual they call out the 3 speed on the smaller blower engines. I don't know how many were made but it was standard for that combination.

Well there's your problem right there!

Btw, if you guys need another gear so bad, just go ahead and put a 5 speed in it! We all know you've got a pretty good stick driver!

No offense directed at the Teuton clan , but this thread shows how bogus this whole deal is.

If the car was a real Stocker to begin with ,it would already have a 4 speed automatic in it from the factory.

Which you would then have to remove and replace with a three speed automatic!

Just think how fast it could be if the engine was removed and sent to a Quality stock eliminator builder, if that happened it may not like the 3 speed, but we will never know because there needs to be a reason------
