Re: 100957.00 really
Just because you can get it race ready for AA/SA does not make it a SS car
It does not have the following allowed SS modifications - any intake any head modifications any manifold any pistons and compression trans-brake 14" tire It does have (like any stocker is allowed) - a roll cage a 9" tire good shocks fuel cell in trunk accessory equipment removed (heater, sound deadener, etc.) legal replacement of IRS And all for only a hundred grand - I am sure there are current AA cars that have that much in them :-) peace |

Call it what you want, people are not blind, so its a AA/SA, first hit it get weight second hit it goes right to SS where it belongs in the first place. What a waste of money.

-However it does have a "built in roll control" (could that be considered a 4 wheel line loc, or an actual trans-brake?) -It does have a 11 qt oil pan. "Designed specifically for Drag Pack" http://www.mopar.com/dragpak/pdf/dra...spec_sheet.pdf Neat piece, just doesn't belong in stock. However I have said that several times, and so have many others. I am not bashing the people getting the vehicles, just the association that is allowing them to compete on the same playing field as the other cars. Yes, there have been people that have spent the same amount to purchase this car, on their car that they race in the same class. You do not see them out running the fastest cars in the nation by over .4 tenths |
Re: 100957.00 really
Very curious ! When anybody buys one of these so called drag pak stockers ( using the word stocker very loosely ) is there a confidentiality contract that they sign with Mopar racing division or does everybody just get brainwashed as to the stocker rules. Don't get me wrong here. I am not attacking the cars or the owners and drivers. It is collusion between the nhra and chrysler. AND FORD!!! Yes we have not forgotten them but at least their owners are very quiet.

Re: 100957.00 really
OK since you guys don't like me posting I will make this my last
I will let the car do the talking - if it can Hell this car has not even "officially" been on the drag strip yet and you guys are whining and complaining OK now to the responses - 1) "underrated V10" - name any engine that does not make a lot more HP than it is rated and I will show you an uncompetitive engine 2) "waste of money" - last time I checked it is my money - well some of it is - the rest belongs to the bank 3) "built in roll control" - not going to have it (no trans-brakes in stock) 4) "11 qt oil pan" the Viper has an oil pan capacity of between 8.5 to 10 quarts depending on the year and model Finally - I am not by any stretch of the imagination - rich. I have a very fast older car. I have just decided to go for the gusto - one last time. I do not make the rules but I have spent a lot of time trying to take advantage of everything that NHRA allowed. Why should this be any different as I approach the twilight of my life? NHRA will make the necessary corrections over time - if and when they are needed. |
